2025 is setting up to be quite a ride. Especially if Antonio, Capehart, and big Tre decide to return for one last ride.
We may need to grab a LB out of the portal, but other than that we appear to be quite loaded at most positions.

We won our conference, which was our way into into the CFP. Then we had a real chance of tying Texas on the road in the 4th against a Texas team that could end up being the national champion. I know the team isn’t where we want it to be yet, but they improved drastically from last year and next year should be better than this year. All we can do is have faith that the right decisions will be made in the off season to fix the issues we had. Yelling at each other here and putting down the team isn’t going help anything.

Correct, but I think some critical analysis is still warranted. On offense, we will go only as far as Cade takes us. As of now I haven't seen any definitive announcement that he will be back. I think he returns, but if he leaves teams rarely make a run with a first year starter (T-Law being an exception, not the rule). WR is talented but lacks depth, OL improved this year but was average overall and will be breaking in new starters. LB depth is a real weakness but Sammy/Woodard is a good starting point, but again no depth. DE lacks quality depth, even with the incoming transfer. Who knows what we have at RB, behind Mafah it's a guess. We never saw meaningful snaps for anyone outside Haynes and he's injured. Big picture: we undersigned in HS recruiting and our roster is a mess. 2025 could be better, The ACC is hot garbage, and we got issues to correct.

In terms of QBs, having Cade back would be ideal; however, there have been plenty of teams (particularly in the last decade) that have made runs with a first year starting QB.
2010: Auburn (national champions) - Cam Newton (Jr. - Only had 12 pass attempts prior to that year) 2013: FSU (national champions) - Jameis Winston (Fr.) 2014: Ohio St. (national champions) - JT Barrett (Fr.) and Cardale Jones (Soph. - Only had 2 pass attempts prior to that year) 2016: Alabama (runner-up national champions) - Jalen Hurts (Fr.) 2017: Alabama (national champions) - Tua Tagovailoa (Fr. - Though he only filled in for Hurts at times) 2018: Clemson (national champions) - Trevor Lawrence (Fr.) 2020: Alabama (national champions) - Mac Jones (Jr. - Only spot started for Tua in 2019 prior to being a full-time starter in 2020)
Vizzina would fall into that camp of an unknown talent coming into the season, but it's not as if new starters have not had runs for teams in years prior.

Fair points. I don't think anyone is comparing Vizzina to T-Law. I thinks it's fair to acknowledge we will be starting a new RB as well. Additionally, this past year was the first in several where our offense actually started to gel. Anythings possible, but a new QB, new RB, new DC (hopefully), and a reworked O-Line isnt the best recipe for a Natty run. Anything is possible however.

Well, in terms of RBs and those same examples, only 2013 FSU and 2020 Alabama started the year with a returning starting RB. The RB position is fairly interchangeable hence why you see it devalued in the NFL. Those teams did have returning starting WRs though, which we will have in quality and quantity.
I can’t speak to whether those teams had returning O-lines or a new DC. However, given Coach Luke’s success in getting the best out of his offensive lines, I would believe he would be able to develop any new starting line combination to produce good results. And plenty of examples have shown a new DC voice can yield positive results immediately (BV is an easy example).
Long post short. College sports changes every year and moreso now with the transfer portal and NIL. Nearly every team will be starting new players or coaches at key positions. The recipe I have seen work is when teams have time to find their identity early in the season and grow into championship teams.

Knowing that some dude on an internet forum is losing trust in him.
You and I are infinitely unimportant, my friend. Here's the facts: Dabo is so good at his job that he has still managed to win the conference twice in the last four years in what many would describe as the "down" years after which the dynasty has fallen.
Dabo has a proven track record far above and beyond any other coach in the history of our football program. It's not even close. He will make the necessary staff changes and Clemson will once again win the conference next season and compete in our 8th playoff.
And the beat goes on.

I disagree. You added a D end that was better than what we had. You get Brown a offseason to improve. Another offseason for Parker and Woods. All they need is to move Barnes back to nickle. Find a a good safety in the portal and the D will be greatly improved next season.

There is a coaching code. Don't announce changes before the holidays, the New Year, or the bowl season. Especially if your new hire has yet to coach their bowl game.
Not sure why I'm even having to defend this. Dabo has a clear track record with these decisions.

If a team completes their bowl game before the new year and a deal is finalized, they will announce.
If a team's bowl game is after the New Year, then they'll wait. But no true professional is going to announce intentions to leave until all games have been played.
It's an unspoken code whether you're a coach or work in an office. You finish out the season before jumping ship. Most likely Dabo's candidate is still competing, hence the lack of an announcement.
Riley wasn't announced until well after bowl season has concluded.

If Gideon Davidson has a breakout freshman year, this offense could average 500 ypg. With an offense that good, it will take a lot of pressure off of the defense.

Not anymore. Any semblance of a "run" ended the moment that DJ Uweungalalala became Dabo's replacement for Trevor Lawrence. And right now we don't have a coaching staff capable of developing talent to that level, even if we had $100 billion in NIL money. Do you really think Porkchop is going to turn Delmonte "Tomato Can" Capeheart into Dexter Lawrence or Christian Wilkins? He's another 5-Star who was gonna shake the world and hasn't ended up being a factor. Our front four on defense is a sieve.

8 conference titles in 10 years is the literal definition of a "run." Seven playoff appearances. The fact that he has done this with DJ and "pork chop" further solidifies how good of a coach he is.
He will make the necessary changes. He always does, even if many of us feel he's a little slow on the trigger.

and get a clue. We are nowhere NEAR where we were 6-8 years ago, ESPECIALLY on defense. We have some WRs who can play with anybody and a QB who is improving but overall behind in development over where he ought to be at this point. Hopefully we can maximize their talents next season and the defensive staff is shown the door. They are terrible. They aren't getting the potential out of anyone on our defense.

Were 4 years of mediocrity and counting. He misfired on offensive and defensive hires. The o-line was better but average. We have no idea who we have at RB, maybe a converted WR. Our LB depth is thin, as is DE even with a transfer. Starting QB is good, but once again depth is an issue. Big picture, our roster is horribly mismanaged and we just undersigned with this years recruiting class. Can 2025 be good? Yes...but I first need to see some changes.

We've had this disagreement on another post as well...but here it goes. Over the last 4 seasons, aside from winning the title in the worst conference in college football, what have we accomplished? The conference title is great, but if we can win it while having DJU as QB for most of a season it can't be that meaningful. My point...zero playoff wins (the game against LSU was the end of the 2019 season). Being the biggest kid on the block in the worst conference in football is laughable if everytime we go outside that conference we get our tails whipped. It's the same old cliche problem with the ACC except in past years Clemson would rise up and be the one team to fight the sterotype, recent times weve fallen in line with every one else. It should be pretty telling that the ACC comprised the 2 lowest seeded teams in the playoff, no top 4 seeds, and has no teams remaining in the hunt for a title.

The defensive backfield, everyone who plays at these positions, become fearless tacklers. Even if LBs or DEs set the edge, DBs poor tackling results in more yards gained. Teams will limit our # of possessions with rushing plays. Our offense will have to be impeccable every opportunity to score enough points to win. Status quo tantamount to a 2025 record of .500 or less.

The defense needs overhauling first.

Defense has fallen off a cliff. We used to be top 10, but we are 37th in yards per game and 80th in rushing yards per game.
All while playing in a weak-ass conference.

It's funny you say this. I have posted a couple times being critical of just how impressive our 10 wins this season really is. Most the responses I have gotten (beside being called "coot") always revolves around, "Just how many 10 win season does South Carolina have?" My answer is always, "who cares?" Any time we have to justify our season by comparing ourselves to South Carolina should be an immediate indication that our season wasn't that good.
