Just because we like to worry -- weather update

Mid-day modeling is out on TD-9 (the storm that folks are talking about for next week's Wuffie game) and this time around the Florida Big Bend area is the favored target, likely Friday morning.
If so, things will indeed get a bit soggy when the Wuffies come to town. Here's the projected rainfall through Saturday night. My guess is most of it would fall during the day, so tailgating may have to get creative. Wind won't be a serious issue as the system is projected to slide through the Midlands into the Sandhills.
Remember the caveat: One model (or four models inthis case), one run. But that's what things look like at this point.
In a way, it might be a blessing ... we'll need the rain to wash away all the Deacon entrails collected tomorrow.
Gee-Hae'd!

Nice. The one place in the United States least capable of handling adverse weather. At least it won't be snow.

12Z Euro just ran ... better news for tailgating, a bit breezy, but little worry about rainfall.
The news isn't so good along the Grand Strand. Remember the mantra: One Model, One Run.

I hate to be the contrarian on this thread, especially since everyone seems to like you a lot, but the NHC and the local Tampa weather stations are saying a St. Pete landfall Wednesday morning. So...maybe it will be out of the way by game time? Let's hope.

Same storm, different day -- it's just a matter of focus

Not contrarian at all. Euro brings the storm ashore as a borderline Cat 4 south of Tamps, crosses Florida, then re-emerges in the Atlantic. Two days later, it's knocking on the door up here.
The forecasters down in Florida rightly are focused on what it might do there -- not in the Carolinas.

I’m not worried, since it only rains on the visitors.
