Using specimen by itself isn't a great compliment. Athletic, freakish, or impressive specimen, yes, but not specimen by itself. It isn't a big deal but it is ignorant.

as it's ever changing, ever evolving, including the evolving uses of words - i understand this might make some uncomfortable. the original compendious held ~40k words. today there are some english dictionaries that offer more than ONE meeeeeeel-yun words[in the best available dr evil voice].
i believe in this case here as specimen is used as slag for, well...
