J. Stidham vs. K. Bryant
Sep 7, 2017, 7:37 PM
|
|
Just for fun. J. Stidham was highly recruited and is heralded as a talented/elite QB. However, he has not had an opportunity to show that yet on the biggest stage. So let's compare...
High school (senior season): KB -- 3570 yards passing 41 TDs 720 yards rushing 14 TDs (4,290 yards 55 TDs total) JS -- 2430 yards passing 28 TDs 750 yards rushing 11 TDs (3,180 yards 39 TDs total)
This year: KB -- 236 yards passing 1 TD 77 yards rushing 1 TD (95.7 QBR) JS -- 185 yards passing 2 TDs 17 yards rushing 1 TD (58.3 QBR)
Physical measurements: KB -- 6'3" 220 lbs 4.50 40-yard dash JS -- 6'3" 190 lbs 4.65 40-yard dash
Small sample sizes but I like KB2 in the comparison.

Facetious. I'm quite sure Stidham doesn't run a 4.4

Along with our top 5 O-Line & #1 D-Line, this will be KB's night to shine. As I believe we could see some really big offensive plays. Pass rush on Stidham is going to be more than the guy can handle. It is tough to throw while you're on your back.

No Stidham is a 4.59-4.60 type of speed. He played WR in HS his Fr & So seasons. He's very athletic ... but not a Nick Marshall threat.
If y'all play man & the LB trails a RB, He'll get 15 up the middle. 4.6 is also pretty #### fast for a QB. If your DE crashes on the RB on a zone read, he'll pop a nice gain.
For comarison sake Nick Marshall was a 4.4 guy Cam Newton was a 4.58 guy

You personally have nothing better to do. You have to borrow a qb from Baylor who has never played a top 10 defense in his life. Please let us introduce you to the clemson tiger d line. They will constantly touch whomever you think will make a difference. This is no Big12. Can't wait to see the Clemson Tigers ground that eagle.

Venables is no stranger to the zone read, ala Lamar Jackson. We will bottle up your QB and force him to throw. Meanwhile, the RB is going to have someone coming off a blitz and disrupting his timing, leading to tackles for loss. Your OL may be good, but haven't seen the kind of talent they will see tomorrow night. Not even Bama is this good up front.

He'll get 15 up the middle ? Man , you haven't done your research on our middle .
You know what , don't. It will just make it harder to enjoy a game you'll already not be enjoying.

I'm confused. How is this guy so fast and yet his rushing stats

are so low? He has virtually no rushing yards.
His longest run EVER in college is 16 yards, so your nonchalant "he'll get 15 up the middle" against BY FAR the best defense he has ever faced falls a little flat. He got 70 yards TOTAL while at Baylor and ran for 17 TOTAL last week.
I'm looking forward to seeing this guy in action. Apparently he has massive talents that he has simply chosen not to utilize until our game. Pretty cool.

No, Stidham will not be able to take the beating Clemson is about to put on him, and if you don't think there is a big difference between 4.4 and 4.6, you don't know much about football, especially when that 4.4 is 6-4 220. Many have come before you bragging about how their quarterback is gonna do this and their running back is gonna do that, and they've all disappeared after the game was over. You won't be any different. One more stat, he had ONE 14 yard gain against powerful Georgia Southern. His 8 other carries totaled a whole 3 yards. Like someone said, this is not a Big 12 defense and this is not Georgia Southern. Clemson has not gone 28-2 by luck over the last two years. Do something before running off at the mouth.

I couldn't find how long each played, but just by looking at the plays and scoring drives. KB played until the half and JS played into the 3rd quarter.
Passing: KB: 16/22 236 yds 1 td 1 int JS: 14/24 185 yds 2 td 1 int
Rushing: KB 7/77 1 td 47 long JS 9/17 1 td 14 long

Actually Stidham played until the 9min Mark of the 4th quarter. I remember seeing the score online ...turning to the game and was like "Auburn is stat padding...i see offensive and defensive starters still in this late ...wow sad"

He did....for our 1st possession and then he sat from that point on. I think that was the 10 or 11min Mark after Fuller scored his 2nd td.
I know the next possession for us Cooper was in and Feaster had that long run
