Kudos to some players / AJC said UGA outcoached

Coaches were awesome, Martavius was bad, but he'll be ok. We need some WR and DB to step up. Here are the guys I'm giving major kudos: http://ryankantor.com/2013/09/01/impact-performances-clemson-v-uga/
Quote from AJC:
Speaking of the Tigers’ adjustments, Clemson’s staff clearly outcoached Georgia’s much of the evening, making much more aggressive calls on both sides of the ball, with the exception of the Dogs’ last scoring drive, when the team in orange strangely sat back in prevent mode, allowing Murray to move Georgia 56 yards in 1:06 to pull within 3.

a prevent defense to keep the Dawgs from scoring quickly. By doing this they were forced to get the yardage in shorter plays therefore use up more of the clock. Playing a straight defense could have allowed Murry to score quickly and have time on the clock left to get the ball back. AJC not very sharp but we already knew that didn't we???

The 'prevent' was a mistake (66 seconds). Venables said so.***

We were handling their offensive line pretty well all night, especially considering that was supposed to be UGA's strongest group. If we had gotten some pressure on Murray, we could have gotten a sack, fumble, INT, or something. The prevent didn't work at all

It was Dabo's call. It's his responsibility.***

It was stupid and had they won the onside kickoff which is

always a crap shoot they would have had the ball at mid field and 1:19 to play. Stupid stupid stupid call by Dabo. And regardless of what anyone thinks & Venables says, the HC makes these types of decisions. I challenge you to find a quote online by a college football expert that thinks it was a smart thing to do! It wasn't!

The prevent D didn't work at all, but we really just needed to slow them down. I imagine there were missed tackles in th secondary.
We have two and a half weeks to get better before our next test, TH at NCSU. SC State is especially bad, regardless of all the FCS upsets this week.

Exactly it didn't work and rarely does that's why people say

"All a prevent defense does is prevent a win". It's a poor strategy. Always has been.

agreement, without the necessity of overemphasis on any particular person's alleged stupidity. I have done many stupid things in my lifetime, and in fact may be one of the stupidest people I know. However, I don't need someone else telling me that. lol
