when the original concept of the paw was sold to the very select group on the new logo committee, the paw was presented on a white helmet. Frank Howard was immediately "sold". We've never donned them as sold.

shot that down as soon as it was put out by Rumph's agent,trying to get him a raise. Not one , but every single reporter around Clemson will guarantee you that he'll never be welcome at Clemson again.

He did way too many vicious and unnecessary hatchet jobs against Clemson on the recruiting trail, and he was guilty of way too much dishonest politicking, both while he was at Clemson and since. He's an almost pathological self-promoter and always seems to be planning (or more accurately, trying to engineer or manipulate) his next raise, promotion, or career move. Whatever, he's a (highly) mercenary coach, and loyalty does not appear to be in his wheelhouse.
There's some other stuff as well, which I won't get into here.

Not a Clemson guy. He was not a Dabo hire and with his hatchet job/lies Dabo would not extend an offer, imo.
We got a young stud coach, who is a class act and even more than a football mind, has unique brain, instead. Basically, the legendary D-line coach's (Dan Brooks) handpicked replacement. Now, what does that tell you?

Coach Rumph will never return to Clemson. He lied about recruiting trips to Fl. Also being a USCjr, grad doesn't carry much weight here.
