on stimulus checks. The Biden Administration spent 1.9 trillion. It seems both are to blame for too much cash being in our economy.
Though, Biden, if I remember correctly asked for about 3 times as much which would have really heated up spending or demand while supply lagged.

by the time the rent comes due, they are out of the office. It seems like this attitude towards reckless spending to stay in power started at a certain time, and was given a name, and once we opened that box, it could never be closed. It is almost like America got conned by some smooth-talking, B-grade western actor.

What's the cause of today's inflation? The cancelled pipeline and the 3rd stimulous check from a year ago?

The "cancelled pipeline" - Keystone XL - wouldn't have been finished until 2029 at the earliest. It was less than 8% complete when Biden "cancelled" it and building pipelines takes forever anyhow because environmentalist groups sue incessantly to get construction halted. If the pipeline had been finished by 2035 it would have been a miracle.
By 2035, if we haven't largely switched over to renewables, the Earth is probably on fire anyhow, and it really won't matter.
That pipeline's nothing but a dead horse...and a stick the GOP is forever going to beat Biden over the head with.
The Bidenbucks assuredly didn't help inflation, nor did the Trumpbucks before those. COVID and an utterly disrupted global supply chain were the biggest culprits and the knock-on effect...keep right on knocking.
Everybody in the world is experiencing massive inflation right now. It's on the verge of running Macron right out of office in France to a distinctly Trumpy candidate, Marine Le Pen, who as a first order of business will crash France out of the EU and NATO because, of course, that'll fix everything.

Biden...it began when he took office in Jan. 21 and worsened every time he came up with an extreme policy!!
One thing for sure...it ain't Putin's inflation, not by a long shot. Birm, can you disprove my statement? I'll wait for the usual twisted, bizarre word salad.

The link I posted is from Dec '20...well after the election.
This discussion is on factors that led to inflation. I think we all agree mass influx of gov spending contributed and the point is all of the folks claiming it's all on Biden are just wrong.
A few points...
- the 2nd round under Trump was way too much - the package under Biden was insanity - The tariffs Trump unilaterally enacted are having a larger impact than is commonly being discussed - Thank God BBB was killed - with all of that said, inflation is a global issue right now, so only a portion of what we're seeing is based on US policy/actions

Much of what you had posted above is true.
The tariffs on P.R.Chinese goods is a bit more complicated. Trump (and many industry leaders) had rightfully become concerned about the reliability of so much of the supply chain being dependent on P.R.China. These concerns were from both the national security and regular commerce perspectives.
So the tariffs on P.R.Chinese imports became a whopping 25%. This sho' 'nuff created inflation, so your assertion about tariffs on PRC are true.
HOWEVER, the elephant behind the curtain was PRC's energy capacity constraints. Despite not giving a shizz about the CO2 driven climate change myth, they still didn't (and still don't) have enough electric generating power to handle both civilian and industrial needs.
Fast forward to Q4-2021 (and this is continuing into Q2-2022): PRC's electricity shortage led to them shutting off power to a BUNCH of industrial concerns in PRC ... with special emphasis on shorting power to non-PRC owned manufacturing companies. This move effectively removed a PILE of intermediate type raw materials from the manufacturing supply chain.
Huge shortages resulted (and are ongoing), and inflation has hit like a Space X rocket.
PUNCH LINE: Trump and his advisors saw this coming, and tried to kick-start the process to wean us off of dependence on PRC to supply ours (and the rest of world's) industrial infrastructure. If Obama had done this (i.e., years ago), then PRC's industrial base might have been aligned with its power generating capabilities. But Obama dithered, and now we're all seeing what happened with the global supply chain when the world became even more dependent on PRC.

No doubt that Trump spent too much. But a pile of the spending and deficit came about from the COVID-19 situation, which caused tremendous damage to the economy.
Again, Trump spent too much before COVID-19. Again, no doubt about this.
But as has been the case in recent years, whatever the Republicans do that is bad, the Democrats make it worse.
Whatever the Republicans do that is good, the Democrats executive-order it away.
That's obvious to fair minded and attentive observers; ergo Biden's terrible poll numbers vs. Trump's OK poll numbers.

Obama's poll numbers were helped by (1) a slavishly (ironic to use that term, eh?) fawning MSM; (2) closet-bigot white people who, terrified that they might be exposed as being racist, virtue signaled to the extent that they actually voted for Obama; and (3) the all-too-common dumb-shizz voter who thought that Obama's snarky behavior was cool and charismatic.
It's ironic that the same people who loathed Trump's snarky behavior thought that Obama's was cool. But here we are.

For the 'too simple' argument, when correct, the only response to the contrary must be elaborate and tortured in an attempt to deflect away from the simplicity of truth.
Good start, though. Looking forward to the full retort in all its twisted glory from you.
