Good point. The entire league has been such a mess for so long we're going back to an entire generation before any current players were born. The league deserves more competition, as does Clemson especially. I love Coach Swinney & he deserves these kinds of accolades outright, it's just frustrating that we don't have the opportunity for any real awards & hardware being fully in our own control.

Dino has an awful record. I think Dino would have been fired at almost any other ACC school by now.
Other than training his defensive players to take cheap shots to KO opposing players, he has not done much for Syracuse - a tough job. Knocked out Kelly Bryant and Trevor Lawrence, and allowed Chase Brice to be a hero in a memorable Clemson game!
He is 24-36 over 5 years, winning 10 games when he had Eric Dungey for his senior season. That year, their offense would break down and Dungey would scramble for a pass or a run. Xavier Thomas sacked Dungey to end the Clemson game, and Dino's high water mark.
After 5 full seasons, they were 1-10 last year. Dino would be 14-33 without Dungey's senior season. Yes, West and Bowden were better.....
In 5 years, West was 31-28 at Clemson, and 3-8 his last year. Firing West was the right thing to do. Dino? I hope they keep him.

My question, how many of these went to Saban's remedial HC school for Div 1 burnouts?
Clemson. The hire: Swinney: D-plus Ford, D-plus. Miss that one. partial credit that the ACC would not be competition but you kinda missed that too.
Mississippi State. The hire: Dan Mullen, Florida off----- coor------ err correction Head Coach. Nevermind. You caught the fish and then let someone else steal your cooler.
Tennessee. The hire: Kiffin. Hi Ol'Miss. Only note is that he is better than the next guy
Washington. Sarkisian, no USC, No Alabama Assistant, no Texas making good life choices? How did this guy become Kiffin's UNDERSTUDY! My guess, he will be Ol'Miss next HC
Syracuse. The hire: Doug Marrone, (hint, still has not graduated Saban's remedial school)
Kansas State. The hire: Bill Snyder. Respect.
Auburn. The hire: Chizik. at UCF, no wait, that was the other guy. Where did this guy go, no one wins a NC and then disappears...
