IMO, a team that wins the NIT has a shot to have gotten past

Rd1 in the NCAA tourney. It depends on matchups and seeding, sure, but the way the tough losses occurred doesn't match what they did to our body of work in terms of W-Ls

If you're in the NIT you would have been a 16 seed in the tourney, so it's unlikely you would get past round 1.

That's false

NCST was a 12 seed with a worse conference record than us and they essentially filled a slot that we could have filled.

Re: ACC teams have never been seeded #16 ... just doesn't happen

That is correct.
It's also a problem that the NCAA should address ... stated otherwise, ACC/SEC/BIG12 etc lower rung teams should get a #16 seed in the NCAA tourney on occasion ... maybe even regularly.

Best way to settle that would be to match Clemson with the team that was the top 30 team in February. I say Clemson could beat them 3 out of 5. Goooo Tigerssss!!!

The RPI formula, update for all games played, has us in the mid-50's right now. If we win two more, we would probably be in the mid-40's. I would say that's about right.

I agree with if you win the NIT you show that you should have been in the big dance.
