price for a ticket to Gymnastics meet at Littlejohn. Last year our oldest granddaughter was a freshman at CU and wanted to go to see the team perform. We live on Lake Greenwood so my wife had an easy drive. My semi-retired sister lives in Central and wife would overnight with her.
Grand had a free student ticket in upper nose bleed in LJ and bought 2 tickets for her Granny and my sister at $7.00 each. They had a great time and promised they would do it again next year. Next year is here. Grand has her free student ticket.
Then reported back to her Granny that cheapest tickets in GA are now $75.00 each. Helllva big % increase yr over yr than price of eggs.
The three ladies will be in Clemson this weekend shopping at local stores and spending money at a nice resturant. They will NOT spend $150 (2 tix) for a product that last year was valued at $14. I understand supply and demand. FYI, some of the best seats floor level are +$450/each ans I have no clue what they were last year
That will buy a lot of eggs.

All of college sports is now about the almighty dollar… it’s a shame that a college sporting event is so dammmm expensive to watch in person. Only a select few can afford tickets to any sporting event at Clemson. I stopped going to games in The Valley years ago (even though I can afford it). We tailgate with friends and family, and then go watch the game at TTT for free. Plus we enjoy a little food and a little more booze.
I’m glad some of you still don’t mind paying to see the Clemson sporting events in person, but I’m done unless it is a very special event.

Weird.
Wonder what the attendance is with $75 tickets.
Maybe it's more popular than I realize, but seems like the stands would be empty for a non-revenue sport like this.

If you buy season tickets from the university they are still under $20 apiece. But this explains why someone went to the trouble to hack our ticketmaster account for gymnastics tickets.
Tickets for this season went on sale as soon as last season ended in March.

When college sports fans stop buying tickets and the revenue starts drying up, then the leaders will get the message. As long as people are willing to pay these high prices, it will continue. Remember a few years ago the price of beef went skyhigh and the people stopped buying it. Prices came down quickly.

The first year was basic marketing to introduce the new sport. Seed money. Building a nice practice facilities. In this day you have to turn a profit if you plan to get profit sharing. Don’t know but I bet the softball team tickets were handled the same way. It is difficult to see future sports that can’t break even or turn a profit.

I bought 7 tix for this Sunday and the total was $105.00. They were $15 for general admission. I sat in GA last year and the seats were decent.

I googled "Clemson gymnastics tickets" and was directed to "Ticket-Center.com" 2 days ago the general admission tix were $79/ec and just checked and they are now showing $59/ea

I've never heard of that Tickets-Center site, but it seems to be a scam. Maybe the tickets are real, but the prices are much higher than everywhere else. I guess they must have paid to be at the top of Google search results, to take advantage of people who don't know better.
