If Tua does have an ACL injury, would month layoff

Nov 4, 2018, 11:00 PM

Bt SECCG and CFP affect it or is the long layoff a non factor with that injury?

If it's sprained it will probably get better with rest. If it is torn only surgery will heal it.

If it’s torn it will take surgery and be 6-8 months recovery. He could opt to wait for surgery until after the season like Deshaun did but even with a brace it could cause more problems with other ligaments and could be a lot more recovery. Making the start of next season being ready questionably.

Just hearing it already gives me a scare.

I would feel bad for the kid if something worse happens to him. Hope Saban makes the right decision for him.

John Elway played his entire career without an acl...***

More likely it is Meniscus or something similar to what Clowney had. They are probably just pumping him full of pain meds to get through it. I hope the kid does not end up with an opioid addiction for his trouble. I don't think he could play on a torn ACL without some hardware to hold the knee together.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He has been wearing a knee brace in practice and games

Nov 5, 2018, 6:48 AM

if that counts as hardware. Reminds me of what DW4 wore when he played on a torn ACL.

You know, I wanted to hate this kid because he keeps leading Bama to victory after victory. But after watching the bit he did with Herbie on Gameday, I realize he's a nice, likable guy. ######! I wanted to hate him. Oh well.

I agree; he does seem to be a really nice guy, just playing for the wrong team.

MCL he may be fine. ACL is worse.

Nov 5, 2018, 7:20 AM

The way he came up lame after that long TD run makes me think ACL. When I tore mine, even with a brace, certain motions would cause it to “give out” followed by pain. Time and it would be “ok” again. Regardless, he has issues and it should be a priority to fix it above all else.

I could be wrong but it looked like he ran fine but got a little gimpy after he chest bumped his fellow teammate celebrating the score.

Looks like on the slow down, which makes sense, because that’s putting the most pressure on the femur shifting over the fib and tib.

Whatever the injury is....

All of Clemson Nation needs to wish him a full recovery!

Clemson culture = Class!! It’s just the right thing to do.

Besides that, I want SO BAD to beat them (given the chance) at full strength with no excuses!!

Go Tigers!!!

Without Tua, you can stick a fork in Bama. Even MSU or AU might beat them, and UGA definitely would. So - bottom line - Tua will play, hurt or not.

Nov 5, 2018, 8:34 AM

If that’s the case, and he plays even though gimply.....

Clemson’s Defensive front needs to go after him relentlessly like a pack of Lions hunting a sickly gazelle! ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Blitz packages, pressure, and make him run. Our Linebackers will do the rest.

Go Tigers!!!

It doesn't matter.

Nov 5, 2018, 8:40 AM

Auburn can be the most evil and vicious team in the conference and there's no doubt the SEC is the lowest of the low when it comes to targeting and illegal hits. I don't believe he will be able to finish the AU game.

Re: dirty play by Auburn

Nov 5, 2018, 1:50 PM

IMO, Malzahn has cleaned up their reputation in non-league games.

Pre-Malzahn, their reputation was well-deserved. From Nick Fairley, to the OL who chop-blocked Big Daddy Wilkinson and our DT the same year, to the late hit on Charlie Parker that cracked his ribs and the excessive holding on Vic Beasley in Cam's first game, they had no peers in dirty tactics.

But since Malzahn took over, it seems they only pull those out for special occasions--like the Iron Bowl or some other SEC games. You know, like family china: you only use it on your cousin.

Yes, Hurts is no way ready to play a game. He's not a good enough passer to beat anyone without his feet. This week will be interesting on how Bama treats this possible injury. Noticed they kept the Hurts situation in wraps until game day. With the requirement gone to discuss injured players teams like Bama will not divulge anything until they have to.
