This is very simple. Clemson should not have many close games, therefore there will not be many games we need to let TL air it out for 60 minutes. With that being said he will not be able to get the most possible stats therefore a heisman isn't really a big chance for Clemson.
Same reason ETN didn't win the doak or heisman last year. give him the same amount of carries as Johnathon Taylor and he has over 3,000 yards and 40 TDs and is a lock for both. But it won't happen because the coaches want them healthy and for Clemson to win.

He's that good. It's not going to matter. He will win it. You don't pass up a "generational QB" (the media's words, not mine) for the Heisman.

I love Watson, and he was the best QB in the country during the 2 full years that he played healthy. However, people tend to overlook that he was either 1st or 2nd in the country in interceptions thrown during the season he finished behind Jackson.

turnovers per game as DW4 did. DW had more interceptions, but Jackson had way more fumbles lost. And fumbles usually hurt you worse than ints. If the voters had considered what was actually accomplished by each player, DW would have won easily!

rushed for like 1600 yards the year he won the Heisman. I think what Clemson fans ignore is that Watson did not start the season well and didn't really make any sort of Heisman push until late in the year. Considering that the award was handed out prior to the playoff it's not really that difficult to understand why Jackson won. His regular season stats were a lot better than Watson's.

Also watch Alabama play last year, constantly slinging the ball downfield for the big shot TD which isn't how Clemson plays and Tua didn't have a huge running threat such as ETN in the backfield.

If he throws 40+ touchdowns, under 5 picks, has a high passer rating, and Clemson is undefeated (and he doesn’t lay an egg against every single good team like Tua did), then TL will win it.

Andre Ware for Houston won it in '89 without playing deep into the second half most of that season.
Houston usually put up 40-50 points by halftime so Ware's stats were still impressive.
