So is college basketball just more corrupt than football?

Or is it just easier to track with the AAU connections and fewer players? Is there a similar FBI college football sting coming? would it be worse? not as bad?

I dont think they just dreamed up turning over these rocks themselves. Someone or something triggered it

I think I heard that the Confidential Witness actually got busted on fraud charges and he ratted out the other guys.
The FBI is involved due to the bribery/fraud that occurred and due to it crossing state lines.

AAU basketball is as corrupt as FIFA. It's rampant and needs the death penalty.

It isn't AAU the shoe companies came up with this scheme, they're just using AAU as a conduit.

That doesn't change the fact that AAU provides an extremely easy way to funnel cash to recruits.

Who do you think is funding the AAU teams, paying for travel, and paying the coach? This entire problem was created by the shoe companies trying to get the next MJ.

And you don't think that when they came AAU didn't go "Well what's in it for us?"

Do you understand how AAU works? If an AAU coach said no what do you think the shoe company would do? This isn't a game to the shoe companies. Not sure why you can't see who the real villain is in this case.

I can't see why you think AAU has some sterling reputation. They surely accepted money and let things slide, and obviously pushed kids to certain schools depending on what AAU circuit they were on.

talent...sure 5 stars and the fact that there are small rosters on BBall teams.
Football is much more difficult to be certain of the 5 stars.

It's all about shoe sales, football players don't sell shoes.

It's the shoe companies they've been driving this train for years and the colleges are just along for the ride. When the coach at UCLA publicly states he'll only recruit kids from Adidas AAU teams you know he's not in control.
All of the shoe companies are in search of the next MJ and the billions in sales that come with that find.

players ...
UNC tried to expand it to football, and that's what got them caught.

Yes, more corrupt than college football for several reasons.
Sep 27, 2017, 8:13 PM

The two most significant being the AAU circuit and the "one and done" scenario.
