I know the goal at Clemson is much higher, and it should be. There are no excuses and I feel the frustration and disappointment as much as anybody else.
At the risk of pumping sunshine like our deeply despised head coach, we are not that far off from being a serious playoff contender. Yes, we were God-awful for the 1st 6 quarters this year. We have discussed and debated the reasons why ad nauseam. Yet our team did not give up and made real progress since then. Yesterday, we were better than the #4 team in the country for 95% of the game. We will fall short of our biggest, most important goals this year, but we still have a really good team, a team that is just now starting to get it's legs underneath them. I see some good, exciting football remaining this year, and a return to playoff contention in the years to come. I'm sticking around to see how it goes.

The team is getting better, the QB is growing up.
I like this team and players,l. They are going to be a tuff out for everyone left on the schedule.

Just think how good our QB would be if Dabo had benched DJ and developed Cole last year instead of wasting it on DJ.

I understand your point but here is the problem with it. Up until the SC game, we still had a realistic shot at a playoff spot. Would it really have been a smart move to tank last year's chance simply to get Cade ready for this year? And given the way he started this year, there would have been growing pains and a loss or two would likely have been part of breaking him in, just like this year.

It was handled professionally and correctly.
Cade could have been mentally wrecked if forced to go out there and make mistakes.
All we had to do is beat USuC and we were in the playoffs. If we would’ve started the not-ready true freshman.
You try to win every game, and that’s what we were doing. There’s no guarantee or even a reason to speculate that Cade would’ve beaten USuC, and DJ won and deserved the job.
People act like they forget missing the playoffs due to one game. Why waste a year with the true freshman who clearly wasn’t ready to play?

Please, sir, let the coaches coach. They know what they’re doing. Tigernet is not a source of coaching decisions.

Dude - we are 2 and 2!! We haven’t look like a top 20 team in many games - except the acc champ game against a porous UNC D.

We just took the 4 ranked team to overtime and out gained them in every offensive category. We are definitely a top 20 team after that.

Maybe by the end of the year....but weve lost half our games this far. You cant be .500 on the year after 4 games and be a top team. Like it or not, we probably arent done losing yet. I do think if the roster stays mostly the same we will be set up well for next year, but right now we just arent good. It happens.
