has the best player retention in the country. I am proud of Dabo and the staff for what they have been able to accomplish. I hope other coaches at Clemson will try something new to replicate what Dabo is able to do.

Perhaps the other coaches could learn from Dabo how to recruit. The portal and NIL saved Brad's @$$.

Name a ranked basketball or football team that does not use the Portal or NIL. Coach Brownell did not need saving because he knows how to coach.

Um how about Clemson football? Smdh. I mention poor recruiting and you respond with he doesn't need recruiting because he's a good coach. This only makes the case.

because he knows how to coach
Yet our only hope is that he can get players out of the portal that already know how to play good basketball because they weren't "coached" by him. Here's hoping. 🤞🏼

ClemsonBlueJay - Fully agree. And, as mentioned in another thread, pretty cool we are the defending conference champions in football and have won 8 of the last 10. Hopefully the drought in basketball will end soon.

Pretty sure 15-0 is the record number of wins ever for any football team in the modern era (Yale 16-0, 1894), and only 4 have ever done it ; Dabo and Clemson did it first, followed by LSU, UGA, and Michigan.

Oh, yeah. Ok, never mind. Maybe Brad *is* a kind of zero championships mediocre clown, despite all the wins this year in the MIGHTY ACC!

And Cliff Ellis teams might have won more ACC games, but they only played 14 back then, not the 20 that CBB gets to play in these days.

Houston Basketball Coach Kelvin Sampson explains his and Dabo's approach

to building their programs through high school recruiting and development, why they don't have to replace so much of their production from the transfer portal every year, and why they may have the best player production retention rate in the country.
"All the great cultures have kids that will play for something bigger than themselves. In this day and age we have 8 out of our top 10 players return. The year before it was the same thing. We've had 3 players transferred in the last 10 years that were in our top 10 players. We haven't lived in the portal, although we do believe in the portal. But, we have kids that when they come in as freshmen, they become sophomores, juniors and now they're seniors. Our senior class this year, last year were juniors and they were held accountable by the seniors that are gone. Now that they are seniors they are fully bought into the things that we believe in."
Wouldn't that be something if Houston and Clemson won the two biggest sports' biggest prizes this year with the recruit high school players into your culture and develop them approach that is so rare in College Football and Basketball these days.
While Houston has a large enrollment, I'm not sure that Clemson is the right place to try and simply duplicate how the biggest universities in the country do it.

When I saw this I thought it was a pretty weak troll attempt. Then I saw the original and realized it was a parody of a very weak troll attempt. Well done.

I think Dabo has done a good job establishing the idea that we care about you and your future and money can't buy that.
