of their standoff.
Just as there can be pent-up demand for things you want in an economy, there’s a tremendous amount of pent-up frustration with Disney, cable providers, and the state of college football.
And here we are with a dispute that bundles(see what I did there) all of those frustrations into one package.
In my view, both Disney and Charter will emerge from this weaker, and direct to customer services stronger. Not only that, I truly think this standoff may be a seminal event for that change to be abrupt and dramatic.

Enter, Elon Musk and Starlink. I understand they are in the process of launching 100 satellites a month and will someday soon make cable companies like Spectrum go the way of the dinosaur. Do it, Elon!

Giving one man way too much power. After supplying Starlink to Ukraine and becoming a vital part of their war effort against Russia, he turned it off in the midst of a Ukrainian attack and completely ended attack. Specifically aided the Russians! Not for or against the war but far too much power for one man. The more we depend on Starlink, the greater his power grows.

Charter cares more about your internet than they do your TV business...Charter is willing to tank their TV package if it means they can sell you internet for your streaming

While that may be true, I was paying $285 each month to them for internet, cable, and telephone. That is now $100 per month. Well played Spectrum, well played.

Yeah, it takes stuff like this to kick in the human action model sometimes and a boatload of their subscribers were right on the precipice of it kicking in anyway.
I don’t think either company thought that part through to its end point.
Willing to bet that traffic at sites like Sportsurge.Net and others has been off the hook.

Once everyone converts over to streaming the internet service providers will just bend us over by raising the price. I can see internet alone costing $150 or so within the next five years.

So you caved to Disney which owns 67% of Hulu’s stock. You are your own worst enemy and are too stupid to know it.

The timing of the blackout at the beginning
3

of the Florida/Utah game was no coincidence, but rather a design to prompt the greatest customer outrage against Spectrum. What I keep reading are comdemnations of Disney.
I believe both should have been required to post a public announcement of an impending blackout at least one week prior, ordered into arbitration during that week and mandated equally to place into escrow funds a total refund of Spectrum customers' TV package deals for one month and continuing monthly until arbitrage is accomplished.
Simply put, the obnoxious greed should be met with steep penalties on behalf of millions of Americans who are/were using the service.
Lastly, I believe the Department of Justice should open an investigation into Disney for anti-trust violations, especially considering the enormous power it holds over sports' markets through its ownership of ESPN. At the very least I believe Congress should call both firms into investigation.

Disney's new management and initiatives have already plummet

-ed their stock. The whole reason they're doing this rate hike stunt is to try to get a quick boost but in the end, you're right..they'll plummet further.

Spectrum/Charter whatever you want to call it, and you can choose to believe it or not, but want to keep their rates competitive. Lot of competition and people will cut you off for a penny. ESPN continues to do this and will do it to whomever you decide to use. It’s money per subscriber. These providers keep giving in there is no telling where our tv prices will go. Someone said they were paying 285; well that could go to 315 and you would ##### that Spectrum keeps raising their tv rates where in reality they base prices off of what they pay the providers. When I started at my current company in 1996 I believe we were paying $10 for HBO and charged $11. I side with the providers because I would rather keep television halfway affordable. Also you do understand we want more money for our teams and that sounds great but someone is paying for these deals and that would be the consumer. ESPN surely has some re-nogiations with the SEC and ACC and we all know they are going to pay more so they will recoup that money with you and I. I’m not for govt regulation but this is one deal where it would not hurt to have it reigned in. If you sign a contract ESPN should not be able to come in and hold a provider hostage to hurt the consumers. That’s just the way I see it.
