He was a legend. I have never heard the All Howard Team. Does anybody know to find a list?

I'd like to see it, my Pop played as a starter on the 49-52 sqaud.

Oh, YES! Peter Cook was a member of my class - '52. Pete was also in my ROTC military science class (Corps of Engineers). Peter was a great football player and was so versatile. He was also very popular and well liked. When I saw the class of 52 ring on you site, I figured there might be a connection. Thanks for sharing!!

There are few living today that were hit by "Black Cat." He was one of the greatest of all time. A few of Howard's favorites during the forties/fifties were Fred Cone, Black Cat Barton, Ray Clanton, Frank Gillespie, Glen Smith, Billy Hair, Ray Matthews, Bobby Gage, Windham, et al. I'm so thankful that I got to watch them play. Now, I too am 90 and a proud Tiger!

A powerful leader in American higher education and instrumental in the development of the upstate. Very few men could match his drive and focus.

My goodness, what an incredible life of accomplishments. My sympathy to his family and all loved ones. Obviously...."A true Clemson man" in all respects!
