I normally don't post this sort of stuff on here

Jul 12, 2016, 12:26 PM

but today just sucks. Hard.

My daughter would be 5 today. We would be getting her ready to start "big-girl" school this fall. She would be swimming at the neighborhood pool with her sister. She would probably want to catch Pokemon.

Instead, she's not 5 today. She passed January 16th of last year from neuroblastoma.

We see the outrage in the world over police killings, wars, and politics, when quietly 7 children die every day from childhood cancers. This fall, like every other, athletes will "go pink" to raise awareness of the most well-funded disease in history. Pediatric cancer will receive 4% of funding from the NCI.

@wilbur82 I wish the best for your friend's kid. It's something no parent should ever have to go through and it's for goddamn certain nothing a child should have to go through.

I just stated my buddies son died from neuroblastoma 3 years ago. I'm sorry for your loss. Like many have said that's the one thing I dread is something happening to any of my 3 kids. You can protect them from a lot of things but cancer isn't one. Its a ####### terrible disease.

Sheesh, doesn't get any more real than that. I'm sorry man.

Jul 12, 2016, 12:58 PM

I'm a man of faith, but children getting terminal illnesses is high on the list of things that challenge my faith.

Kudos to you for having the strength to carry on for the rest of your family through such a horrible time.

No child, nor should any loving parent have to endure that.

That's heavy, bro. I can't even imagine.
Thanks for the perspective.
Now I get a little better understanding of how you feel when you see the little one shed the tear when she loads the diaper.
Pulling for the three of you.

Thanks man...

Cancer sucks. Lost both parents that way, #teambeckett is struggling and another close Clemson friend, Mark Berman(in G'Vegas) is suffering through pancreatic cancer.

Sorry about your child. Don't know I could get through that.

Peace.

Hard to understand cancer in children. Damnedcst thing to

Jul 12, 2016, 9:40 PM

have to deal with.

A friend, a young mother of a toddler, was discovered to have cancer during her pregnancy. She had the best of care, and fought hard, but finallt lost her battle last year. When I see that little girl, it just breaks my heart.

So sorry for your loss, friend.
