I suspect Dabo had decided that he was going to make a change at DC after the SC game, if not before that.

But, if there was any doubt in his mind, the SMU game - specifically the 4th quarter - had to remove all doubt.

When you take out your best tackling LB against a qb that runs (sc game), probably cemented the deal for Dabo.

Wrong again dude! He sat for virtually the whole 4th quarter ! Dabo was there also and is as much to blame as Goodwin if not more . He hired the guy with 0 playing experience or coaching experience . Epic fail by Dabo ! What you saw in the 2nd half against SMU was a lack of quality depth on defense . We were out of gas with no talented depth to help out . Still not sure we have fixed that especially at LB and defensive end . We are good with the 1’s but huge drop after that. .

Dabo blew the SC game in 22 also, Should have been running the ball down SC's throat in that 2nd half like everyone else had done that season. Instead he chose to be cute on offense stubbornly keeping DJU in the game including a silly trick play.

The coverage concepts that half alone left me scratching my head...we were getting good pressure on Jennings consistently...he had the secondary in the softest zone man...left Barnes and Jones vulnerable at the top....I'm glad he's gone.

Agreed. That game I believed started the search for our next DC. Sitting Brown in the 4th qtr against the coots only magnified it and then the 4th qtr implosion against SMU sealed it. Win or lose, porkchop was not going to survive Texas
