The ACC with or without out should immediately invite the Service Academiesas full members. They bring an instant coast to coast market. Fit nicely with the ACC’s academic profile. It will absolutely make the conference better than adding teams like Memphis , UConn, and etc would accomplish.

I have changed my mind on West Virginia. Did not like the idea of them being a possibility, and I’m not sure they fit the mold academically, but they do have decent football and basketball programs. No nothing about any of their other sports.

WVU has to admit all in-state applicants, I feel like this probably brings them down a bit. Other than that it seems like they are a fine research university with pretty good rankings.

West Va's crowd, students, and alumni are a pretty large and passionate group that truly give a bump about college sports. They generally stay competitive across the board and make for a lot more exciting atmosphere overall than many in the league. The affiliation with ACC schools would also likely help their scholastic connections.

If I was a WV fan I’d laugh at the idea of leaving the Big 12 for this dump we are in. No way they leave for the ACC

I don’t see academics as playing any role in these new conference alignments, just revenue.
Once geography went out the window, along with common sense, it is just about money now.

when the ACC failed to invite WVU when Pitt, VT and others were asked to join.
The Mountaineers had no one in their corner, whereas VT benefitted from the Governor of Virginia's intercession to force an invitation. The whole affair reeked of involvement of certain schools with the same attitudes they demonstrated against Clemson and South Carolina over the years.
Then, when UM left for the B1G, what does the ACC do? Why ask Louisville, for God's sake.(Nothing against the fine folks of LV meant.) What happened to WVU? To compete they had to join a conference halfway across the country, travelling great distances...a sh*tty proposition brought on this POS conference to which we belong. Honestly, considering our own experiences, I couldn't believe Clemson didn't go to bat for WVU and read the conference officials the riot act.
Now, even if an invitation were extended, I wouldn't blame the Mountaineers if they told the whole conference to kiss their collective asssssses, and I'd probably applaud them for doing so!

Agree. All you have to do is watch and listen to all the CFB shows. None of this gets the ACC in the discussion. We have to have us, FSU, VT, and Miami all relevant. Period.

God I just want out. The games tomorrow make me jealous. You have SC/Mich and Tenn/OU. Both conference games. And here we are playing NCState. Who was a top preseason ACC team, lmao. Embarrassing

does the Coast Guard also have a football program? As long as we’re in “tank the conference even worse”mode, mind as well see if Liberty H.S. has a ROTC member on their football team and perhaps see what their up to

Academics don’t move the needle for conference expansion these days. Schools also need to bring eyeballs and dollars. The service academies would not bring much money to a conference, nor would they offer competitive athletics on a consistent basis.

If you don't mind students throwing old batteries at our players. Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of great wvu fans, but enough students are absolute @#*%^.
Most of the parking requires a tram ride to and from the stadium.
