I don't think it is one particular song.

Last year FSU hired a live DJ to play songs during the game. (Trying to copy the format so many NBA teams use.)
Hopefully, after the vociferous complaints this week, saner minds have prevailed and the policy will be changed.
The normal tradition for FSU was every time the defense was on the field and it was 3rd down, or 4th and short, the band would play the Warchant and the fans would cheer the chant. (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.) Well, last year the band was told that third down belonged to the DJ. People didn't like it, but since we were winning the complaints weren't too strong.
This year the decibel level was turned way up on the PA system, the team played awful, and the complaints got vociferous.
We'll see what happens Saturday. I've hear the warchant will be back on third down.

I've been to quite a few Clemson trips to Doak over the years (not as much lately), and it was always such a great (and intimidating, for opponents) atmosphere. Even though I hated it when Clemson lost, I really respected the atmosphere and the tradition. I hope for the sake of the game and the FSU fanbase they bring it back.

I would say that's a yes and a no . . .

"yes" in the sense that everyone has some inclination to make their contribution, but "no" in the sense that not everyone has the same level of discernment about the balance between contributing and simply commandeering. Make your mark, yes, but realize that others who've made theirs in past generations often left something worth keeping.

The youth ain't paying the big bucks to renovate the stadium. The you ain't paying to big bucks to sit in luxury seats. The youth ain't paying the money it takes to pay Norvell 10 million per year.
One would think it would make good business sense to ask the guys who financially sustain the program what they think of DJ music vs. the Warchant.

I'm guessing the DJ played rap music and that would turn the older crowd off.

Well you have at least solved the puzzle as why the Hayull anyone would recruit DJ to lead the team.
It was a 2 for 1 DJ deal you get music and missed wide open throws all at the same time.

and as the war chant got louder, the lights would progress up the spear and feathers to the top point of the spear.

Hey Bret........we had a similar experience in DV with the WWF style 3rd down chant fiasco last week. The pitch forks and knives came out from Clemson fans and former players, thus the practice has already been shot down by Clemson Admins who actually listened to us. In my complaint to Dr. Clemens and to Graham Neff, I explained that at Clemson, we set trends, not follow them. They both agreed and the gravely voiced 3rd down irritant will be no more. Maybe they should try that tactic at FSU? They already have one of the most recognizable, organized chants in College Football.

If there were vociferous complaints to get rid of the DJ, how can you really know which DJ they were talking about?
