Overview:

According to Wikipedia:

“The 1910 Clemson Tigers football team represented Clemson Agricultural College—now known as Clemson University—as a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) during the 1910 college football season. Under first-year head coach Frank Dobson, the team compiled an overall record of 4–3–1 with a mark of 2–3–1 in conference play. W. H. Hanke was the captain.”

Noteworthy:

It seems crazy, but for the 7th straight season Clemson Football had hired a new head coach. Up to that point each of these men had served as head coach for the Tigers for only one season (that stat will change later when one of these coaches will return for another stint as head coach in upcoming seasons).

“September 24: Clemson faces Gordon Institute for the fourth and last time in a game played on Bowman Field. Tigers win, 26-0, for a perfect 4-0 series record.

November 24: The Tigers travel to Atlanta and suffer [a] 0-34 defeat at the hands of Georgia Tech, to achieve a 4-3-1 season record. Tech closes [the] series margin to 6-4-1.”

It is interesting that the Good Guys (that’s Clemson) actually had a lead in the series against Ga Tech at one point! Very cool! But even with all of Clemson’s domination over Ga Tech in recent years, the Good Guys still have a ways to go now to catch the Jackets.

Crazy to think that Clemson played an entire season in which every game (win, loss, or draw) was a shutout! That really is an amazing stat! And it shows how defense dominated the game back then!

As stated above, Clemson’s win over the Gamechickens ups the Tigers’ lead in the series to 6-2.
