I don’t know if y’all just saw Loonardi on ESPN+ a few moments ago.
But they talked about our game today.
Apparently VT will be a quad 3 if we beat them today. But if they beat us, they will be a quad 2.
And a Q2 loss is better than a Q3 win.
Makes sense to me.
I mean…don’t get me wrong. I still will NEVER cheer against my team.
But it was interesting analysis.
He was saying if we win today, we’ll be the 11 seed in the Midwest, matched up against Gonzaga.
Yikes!
But if we lose today, we’ll be the 4 seed in the South matched up against Drake.

Win every game you can and that will benefit you most at the end of the season. However, VT is a tough place to play and I hope Tommy Bowden ( Brad) will create an atmosphere to win.

Season doesn’t end today though. VT has time to climb into Q2 after this game. They put way too much stock into quadrants. A win>loss any day of the week. No such thing as a good L unless you’re a coot!

I feel confident that if we continue to win at the current pace, we will not be an 11 seed. If VT can find a way to win a few games, they will not be a quad three team. I believe the analysis is based the tournament teams being picked today which is not the case

Folks, this is the best site for tracking the NET ranking. The team sheet breaks it all down by Quadrants. A Q3 win vs. Q2 loss is not how it works unless the opponents current and updated ranking is in the border between quadrants.
