Heard it again & saw it in a post game replay..that JoeB sustained rib cartilage..

damage in 2nd half and is in rehab.
Don’t think I’ve seen anyone here comment on it but a post film on the Natty with sound showed JoeB come over to Coach O & tell him he had just sustained a hit on his rib (showing Coach the location) and verbally told him he couldn’t run anymore.

I didn't believe it when I heard it, but you can see him wince when Orgeron tapped him in the left side after the last touchdown they scored. Right after he pointed to his ring finger. It was that unnecessary hit by Skalski as Burrow threw to Moss.

Unlike the obvious target hit against Trevor, that wasn't called!

I thought he was hurt the instant that play happened and everything I saw after that reinforced my initial suspicion.

What a silly choice of words.
The whole point of rushing the passer is to 1) sack him 2) force him to rush his throw or 3) hit him legally often enough and hard enough to force an offense to lessen his exposure and become less aggressive; i.e., get the QB to hand the ball off or keep more blockers in.
With that in mind, whenever LSU allows a blitzer a free run at the QB, how can anyone complain that he took it?
All year long, LSU has been dicing up secondaries by sending out a bunch of athletic receivers. They were daring blitzers to hit Burrow. He usually released the ball so early that he escaped harm. But sometimes you pay the price for sending out 5 in the pass pattern. Skalski did his job.
It was LSU'S job to protect him. They failed that time.

He was already beat up from the meatgrinder schedule. His bruises didn't heal up in the 6 weeks before the game. You 23 year men heal up slower than 18-22 year old kids.

clean hit IMO

clean hit IMO. He did what a pass rusher is supposed to do, hit hard but clean. Make the QB hear footsteps.
After the hit and during halftime Joe was on the bike staying loose. Even w/ that injury he ran a few times in 2nd half.
Jeaux plays like a LB, took hits all year.Is now rehabbing. No SR Bowl, no passing workouts for scouts for awhile.
