Who cares what his bio says? If you go on any of the big recruiting sites you can literally see with your own eyes that he wasn’t a 5 star on any of them. Not ESPN, 24/7, or On3.

Those are the national sites not some fanboy Clemson site that overrated them to make them seem like they’re bigger than they are.

As I’ve said multiple times for almost 2 years now.
He ain’t got it. He never did.
He was highly rated but not a 5 star. Out of high school… he was rated on what he COULD be… not what he was.
He was a kid that was ALL PROJECTION.
He’s got great size with a nice arm and he can move. Had he went somewhere that could have actually coached and developed him then maybe he could have reach a nice ceiling.
However… he came to Clemson where our guys regress. Especially QBs… DW4 and TLaw were already ready when they got here. Me and you could have “coached” those guys.
CV as I’ve said for over 2 years… will never take meaningful snaps at Clemson barring injury and if he does… we are in serious trouble.

You must have rode the short bus to school. It doesn’t matter what the Clemson website says you imbecile. NONE of the major recruiting sites had him finish as a five star. Only 24/7 gave him a five star rating for about a month before they knocked him back to a four star.

Two national championships in their final year shows a clear regression of Deshaun and Trevor huh? DJ actually did get better before his 8-29 day and getting replaced by Cade. Cade developed into one of the most highly touted QBs in the country last year and he is sure does appear to be playing much more relaxed and obviously the last two weeks he is playing as well as last year.
So yeah, that was funny.

I never look at stars, I look at offers. That said, Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, Clemson, Florida, LSU, and Tenn top the List.
His arm and athleticism can not be questioned, more decision making and the speed of the game. I would love to see him in there with the ones as most of his reps has been spent in garbage time with the mix of 1's and twos.
But yeah, 3 years in I thin it is fait to say he is not living up to the hype from 5A ball in Alabama. But one glaring omission is an offer from Alabama, this would have been during the Nick Saban era. They took Eli Holstein in that class, who did not have the Big time offers.

You can say he wasn't a 5 star but the fact is that Clemson touts that he was. So with our staff touting that he was a 5, the fact remains that his development has not been great and marks that 3 out of the 5 of our last top recruits have not panned out to be fantastic qB's or even good QB's and Vizzina is going to be no exception to the trend and make us 4 for 6. There are plenty of good arguments out there that neither Watson or Lawrance needed much if any development and perhaps actually regressed a bit while with Clemson.
