Saban is a jerk. An ego maniac. He subscribes to the rules don’t apply to him. He is arrogant. He is elitist. He is aloof and condescending. He is a crybaby and much more. But, he is very good and the results back him up. I detest Alabama going back to my childhood, but it truly is Alabama and then a group of four simply called “The Big 4”
I want ANY of these teams to join and then surpass Alabama. Yes, ANY OF THEM.
- If Georgia wants to get in the top group, BEAT ALABAMA.
- If Clemson wants to get in the top group, STOP GETTING BLOWN OUT in the playoffs.
- If Ohio State wants to get in the top group, DON’T GET BLOWN OUT by Alabama.
- If Oklahoma wants to get in the top group, WIN A PLAY OFF GAME.
Now, all we can do is see if any of the Big 4 can join Alabama

If I am not mistaken, Clemson is the only team to have beaten Bama twice in the playoffs and one of those victories was an absolute blowout. Right now it looks like it’s just Bama and Clemson. Are you on crack?

I rip UGA more than any other team. BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT.
Georgia has become a national joke the old fashioned way - they have EARNED IT. But, like it or not, they actually are in the Big 4.
it is Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia, and Ohio State.
Truth is an uncomfortable thing and few can stomach it. As a Georgia fan, I know it all too well.

I'd probably put Georgia in a 3rd tier with Notre Dame and LSU. Usually good enough to make a run to the playoffs if they get a few breaks and one of the big 4 (Alabama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma) falters. Then there's a pretty big gap between the next tier of Florida, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, etc.

Meh, I’m wondering what georgia did to deserve to be on that list. Bama, Clemson, OU, and OSU have all been to the CFP multiple times. If you must add a 4th is is ND not georgia.

Yup. Sorry bullfrog but if you want to make the CFP era about 4 teams, LSWHO squeezes you out. Like a fresh steaming dog turd on a frigid January day. You have to at least get there to build a resume. As far as who Clemson beats to get there:
1. You still have to get through the cream of the crop in conference championship and playoffs. (See two NC trophy’s)
1a. Yo dogs play in the SEC least. Granted, Florida has made some noise but Tennessee, Vandy, and the powerhouse in Cootlumbia? Please!?

Not a flame, but in two consecutive years Clemson got pounded.
Great to get there playing who Clemson plays in regular season, but you cannot then get blown out in the play offs.
I know Clemson is a great team, but the perception that gives is not good

We had never lost to Ohio State, including beating them 31-0 in the CFP semi final in 2016, and we beat Ohio State again in the 2019 CFP semi. Clemson is historically 4 wins and 1 loss to Ohio State.
Ohio State only played 7 games in 2020 counting their conference playoff. Clemson played in 11 games prior to the CFP. That was a huge advantage for Ohio State. Still, Clemson is 4-1 overall against Ohio State, each of these games were either a bowl or CFP game.

Comparing UGA to Ohio State is not realistic either.
Oklahoma at least wins their conference every year and has made multiple CFP's.
UGA belongs in the next tier of teams after those 4. At the moment their biggest claim to fame is playing in the same conference as 'Bama.

This topic would hold some merit if Jawga had beaten Alabama in the last 10+ years. What was it, 06 or 07? Wasn't that Lil Nicky's first year there when LA Tech beat them? Since Davo took over CU is 2-2 against them. Yup, we got woodsheded by the Bucknuts last game, NO DOUBT, and I give you that. However the LSU game was far from a blow out; was a 3 point game until 5 minutes left in third quarter, then LSU scored one more TD. Yeah..a blow out..SMH. I think you left out one very important bit of information regarding Alabama .A number of good coaches could replace Saban and have winning results simply because Alabama is Alabama. They may not win 6 National Championships but they would still rule the roost in the SEC.
In regards to Georgia, they haven't had a great coach since Dooley, and even he wasn't in the same league as Saban ,or even Dabo.
In regards to Clemson getting blown out I will tell it as I see it. In the LSU game, LSU, simply put, was the Best team in the country that year. Ohio State ,on the other hand put all of their eggs in one basket in wanting to beat Clemson,( ie, that was their Title game) and ,IMO and they had nothing for Bama ,which was also the Best team in the country last year.
Ohio State is the best team for the type of football they play,but I feel they would be only one of 5 teams in the SEC (Georgia,Florida,Auburn,LSU) always battling for 2nd place.
Simply put The Big 10 top to bottom is not that good.
Frankly neither is the ACC that good right now ,but this is not the place to debate that topic.
Finally Oklahoma is in the same boat as Ohio State( conference wise)but I think Lincoln Riley is one of those coaches who has youth and moxie in his side to turn that program around.

In national championship games at Bama I believe Saban is 6-2. Against Clemson in national championship games he’s 1-2.
My math says we have a .667 winning % in nattys vs Saban.
