I watched Houston for years, since we lived there for about 20 years, going all the way back to Phi Slama Jama days of Drexler and Hakeem. This Houston team was built on rugged mug them from the gitgo defense, 3-point shooting and offensive rebounding. If they cannot make threes, they can't score. Their defense is so aggressive, they usually hold teams to 60 or less, so they win with defense, not offense. They are bringing in some 5-star talent for next year who can light it up but it will be interesting to see if they can mesh with Kelvin Sampson's defensive philosophy. He will begin brutalizing the newbies at 6 a.m. daily this summer, so we will see how long these "scorers" will survive the Houston Summer boot camp.
