Only add schools if it doesn't water down our cut of the contract. We have to compete with the SEC, and we can't cut the same pie smaller and smaller. If it ADDS to the Big12, by all means do it. I think VT and Maryland add. Not sure GT does. Doubt UNC or UVa would go. NC State would be nice, but they may go SEC- as may VT.

have heard it is all about the TV footprint. Also looking like the Big XVI East/SEC is setting up to have great rivalries CU/USuCk, FSU/Fl, GT/GA, etc. could see VT,UVA or MD/WV (think MD ends up in B1G though). I think we see the big 4 conferences going to 16 very soon and either the Big XII or SEC the first to get there.

I am not sure GT adds Georgia. UGa is dominant in that state, GT following seems anemic at best. I wish they did deliver Georgia.

GT would add Georgia to the Big 12, at least the folks doling out the money has to say so. GT will bring as much of Ga to the Big 12 as NCS will bring NC to the SEC.

Look, I like GT and I want them in....IF it doesn't cost us $$$$$. As far as NCSU, they have a HUGE alumni and fan base. They just haven't had much to be excited about for a long time.

It's all about footprint in a state. Clemson adds South Carolina. Tech adds Atlanta and the rest of Georgia basically.
We could help the Big 12 make some money with a Big 12 network, because we would be local in a huge market.
That's just the way it works.
It has nothing to do with size of fanbase. It's just location and TV market. That's how it works.
