Times in the 100/200 have little to do with the 40 or 60 as

those two are purely about the start. The biggest key to a fast 40/60 is getting out the blocks fast and clean. A lot of very fast guys in the 100/200 are not great getting out the blocks and don't do well in the very short sprints. Starts are actually not a huge factor in the 200, but it's rare to see guys over 5'10 esp 6'0 be great in the 100. Short guys are typically better in the really short sprints. The 60 is an indoor sprint, the 100/200 are outdoors. The 40 is purely used in football.
The reason Usain Bolt is seen as such a freak is not just how fast his 100 is, which is blazing, but that he is tall. It was actually thought in sports science circles that it was impossible for a guy as tall as Bolt to run the 100 that fast. There has never been a tall guy do well in the 100 before Bolt due to the mechanics of running and how you come out of the blocks. Starting with the 200 being tall becomes an advantage because longer legs make you a more efficient runner.
You can sometimes recover from a bad start in the 100, but a bad start in the 40/60 and you don't have a prayer. Lot of science and physics involved in this stuff.
Most black sprinters can trace their genealogy to east Africa. The distance runners come almost exclusively from west Africa, primarily Kenya. Fast twitch vs. slow twitch muscle fiber. Most white people have slow twitch muscle fiber. Culture plays some role, but the key is genetics, genealogy, biology, and the type of muscle fiber you have - fast or slow twitch.

Tavien is the fastest kid in the country. Holds the state record for the 100 i believe. Tavien will instantly be the fastest man on campus as soon as he comes.

No the kid the hold the state record broke Stephen Davis's record about 7 years ago. Ran track at auburn. I expect feaster to break that record if he runs track the next 2 years. That's crazy though feaster will more than likely be the fastest guy ever out of SC.

Cain on the camp circuit wasn't known as a burner but instead a kid that ran great routes and created separation. Kid also very shifty as well with good speed. I think feaster would win a foot race. Would love to see a fields vs feaster old school foot race.
