The entire stadium was booing him

Jan 13, 2017, 10:36 AM

Alabama fans hate him too from his time in Florida. Get real here, most of college football fans can't stand the guy, not just us.

I love the guy. Unless he's coaching against Clemson

Regardless if you love him or hate him he's a hall of famer. He did beat us. We win with class, we lose with class.

Jan 13, 2017, 10:36 AM

yeah I'm sure no Bama fans booed. Captain arrogant cant handle being captain irrelevant

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And after sitting on his butt the last few years the program nosedived

Jan 13, 2017, 10:39 AM

And he bailed before losing a 2nd straight and 3rd overall. Real classy. November 2018, after we've won 5 in a row, we can stop talking about it.

Thought process of Game Planner, Clemson-Bama

Jan 13, 2017, 10:42 AM

hmmmmm.....who can we get as honorary captains, somebody that Clemson and Alabama fans will really love and admire......how about Spurrier? And Peyton Manning? Great!!

And I know, we'll get Auburn's eagle to circle the stadium. the fans will LOVE that!!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It sure as he!! wasn't just the Clemson fans !!!!

Jan 13, 2017, 10:42 AM

That's right Steve, you managed to win five in a row against Clemson, your only real noteworthy accomplishment while at $CU, and then when the going got too tough and $CU re-assumed its role as a perennial doormat, you quit mid-season and crawled back to Gainsville.

LOL, USuC's greatest accomplishment under Steve Superior

Jan 13, 2017, 10:44 AM

was beating Clemson 5 years in a row. I was glad he was there to watch Clemson accomplish what he never could do at USuC. Enjoy it, repeat it, revel in it... I'll just keep looking at the Clemson National Championship trophy.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

News from USuC...
"Richardson was the 20th Gamecock arrested since Spurrier was hired in Nov. 2004"

Fluxus®
"As I watched the game yesterday I couldn't help but feel crushed. We beat Furman by 4 TDs, but to me it looked like we got whipped."

"George Bush, we are reliably informed by the media, has the IQ of a moron, though how he matriculated from Yale and Harvard or flew an F-106 will remain an unexplained mystery. Doubtless his father bribed the airplane to fly itself."

Re: LOL, USuC's greatest accomplishment under Steve Superior

Jan 13, 2017, 11:30 AM

USuC's greatest achievement in their entire football history was beating Clemson 5 in a row.... other than that, what? a ACC title 47 years ago? Going to their conference game a few yearsback and getting blown out??

Think about it..... of course they still want to bring it up, it's their only real accomplishment in the entire history of their sorry program.

I thought I heard DAWGS howling too - all the way from Athens ;)

Clemson fans should be cheering this guy***

You all are idiots.

Have some respect for one of the greatest coaches of all time.

Yea, we all booed. I booed myself! I told my dad when it happened that I bet Spirrier would understand and it wouldn't get to him.

Those boos showed pageantry. They were respectful "boos".

His last job and the way he exited shows the legacy that he built. Look at how strong the program that he established is.

Watch some of his actions and reactions while coaching Florida – note how he treated his players. What is there to respect? What kind of man do you think this guy is?

Quitting midseason so he didn't have a tarnished record is the legacy he left behind and what will be most remembered.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I suspect many coot fans would boo him now if they had the chance***

Jan 13, 2017, 11:00 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Really only hated that he was beating Clemson for a while

Jan 13, 2017, 11:09 AM

That bothered me through and through. (I am sure I'll be called coot for this). Other than that I thought he was pretty funny. He ended up embarrassing himself just like all that go to USuC, just like Holtz.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He wasn't very likeable before he left Florida

Jan 13, 2017, 11:14 AM

Even the Florida Gators I know despise him although some are starting to soften up in their old age.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

CORRECTION! CU & Bama fans booed. Everyone did.***

Hats off to the old balls coach. He and Connor Shaw had Dabo's number. Too bad they now suck.

He understands that you can't trash

Jan 13, 2017, 11:25 AM

Talk others and then complain when others take their shots at you. His ego feeds off of it. I like the guy and if most of you knew him you most likely would like him also. His family is first class and none of them has his ego. However. I don't mind his ego. I would not have booed him, but I understand why others did. I am sure he understands as well and part of him liked it I am sure. If you want to really get him, don't boo him and he would have felt insignificant. That is what he doesn't want.

Re: He understands that you can't trash

Jan 13, 2017, 12:55 PM

I love SOS! He did the impossible in Columbia and forced us to get better in the process. I was in Tampa and didn't boo him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No better way to honor Spurrier

Jan 13, 2017, 11:37 AM

Getting booed by Alabama and Clemson fans is exactly the way Spurrier would have wanted it.

Part of Spurrier's game was getting into the heads of opposing teams. (Sammy Watkins interception, anyone?) That Alabama and Clemson fans still boo him shows how good of a job he did.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To have hurt feelings

Jan 13, 2017, 11:44 AM

A creature would first need to contain feelings .
This Spurrier , he is as empty inside as the Sakerlina trophy case .

Actually 3 HOF coaches

Jan 13, 2017, 12:39 PM

Don't forget Peposodent Paul Dietzel, who won NC at LSU (actually beat Clemson 7-0 in Sugar Bowl that year, after already being declared NC).

Studied at CU & USC, but who is this guy and why do I care? He's my age and looks like an old has been like me. Couldn't go to game so I'm booing him from home...whoever he was.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea, and he won all those SEC Championships & The Natty at
