He looks bigger than I would expect after just completing 60 days of Ranger training. Going on 20 mile marches carrying 80 pound rucks tends to make one lose weight.

my brother lost 30%+ of his weight? Sleep was almost nonexistent he said- all to break them down mentally.

that is awesome! and a great way to de-bulk after years of bulking up for football! Many football players turn to fat after their career is over. I was on a flight with William Perry a number of years ago and it was really sad to see the shape he was in...

William was in that shape towards the end of his pro career. There was a rumor that he stepped on the scale at a senior bowl practice and the scale went up to like 350lbs. The scale went to the top and they think he might have been about 380 his last year at Clemson. I still think he ate himself out of a hall of fame career.

Ranger in 82nd Airborne Div. His Grad day from Ranger school we took him to his choice of restaurants. He ate one of everything....at least tried to. I could count every rib of his but his calf muscles were Popeye/spinach huge. He got to drop in on Noriaga's airport but was bitterly disappointed to find it abandoned. Said he didn't get to fire a shot in anger then mumbled some curse words. Mom was with us.

I'm guessing he'll be an officer. He must have done RIP and went straight there from basic and airborne, I noticed he has no rank on his chest. But, even an E-1 gets a blank rank patch.

You don't wear rank in ranger school, so that is why you don't see it on his chest. Also, RIP is now called RASP and is not the same as Ranger school. RASP is the school a soldier will complete to get into the 75th Ranger Regiment. Ranger school graduation does not equal ranger regiment. If he is an officer he will likely go back to his regular army unit.

of those big old dudes slim down quite rapidly after a couple of months of military training. I was at OCS in Quantico with a couple of college linemen, one from Ohio State and one from Delaware, and although still big, they slimmed down considerably. Looks like Mason has done the same. Bet he is one tough dude!
