Florida State is 4.92. I copied and pasted an article that posted this and they made a mistake. Thanks for catching it.

Staying regional and kindling rivalries to a fever pitch with quality teams is where it is at. Going national like the BIG did was a mistake.
Seeing the year to date average per team brings up questions. Does the SEC need anyone else? If any expansion they will be VERY selective as to whom gets in. If a super conference ever materializes you would think there will be a much smaller amount of teams than the 40 to 60 quantity that many believes it would be. Why add just numbers when viewership/attendance determines it all? They won't let teams in just to let them in to 'save' football. That would be sharing the pie with consumers of the pie instead of letting those in that would help to bake the pie.
A conference with depth, quality and more big games throughout the year will produce more losses throughout the league but it peaks fan interest yielding higher viewership and attendance at the games. This is driving fan support/interest in the SEC where other conferences are showing a drop in fan interest and involvement. Whom would have thought this would be the result? A depth of quality teams in a conference is vital to produce driving factors.
Of course, the SEC office won't listen to the fans. Everyone I am in contact with doesn't want Virginia or the Tarheels. Most seem to want the SEC to stay as it is but realize adding a very select few might make things even better. There is only two teams that people mention over here (except Kentucky folks) they would like to see with us and that is Clemson and Florida State - a natural fit. If you don't add culture like yourselves then it doesn't do anything to peak interest.

Well, putting the SEC on ABC at noon, 3:30, and 8:00 each and every week and the ACC games on the CW will do that.

I'm afraid you have your causality backwards. ACC games are on CW and SEC games are on ABC because of the number of viewers.

Here is a better site to track college football TV ratings. It includes the disappointing CBS numbers.
www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/
Preliminary numbers from week 12 are here:
www.sportsmediawatch.com/2025/11/abc-most-watched-college-football-since-week-one-return-youtube-tv/
Games on the ACC, Big Ten, and SEC networks are not included.

Do the viewership numbers equate more hypothetical wins to Finebaum viewers or something?

Good, because ESPN just pulled up in a van full of "mail-in" ballots and oddly they are 100% for the SEC. Crazy.

When you don't win, you don't get national TV timeslots.
Being in the SEC helps, but when you aren't winning big AND you play in the ACC ain't nobody watching.
Mediocre is mediocre, and the masses don't tune in for it. Unless you count the team getting beat by a #1,#2, etc... type team.
Joining the SEC would be like putting in a brand new 900hp engine under the hood of your Hot Rod and racing it on square tires.
Until Dabo upgrades his coaching staff, and changes how he manages Clemson's roster there it wouldn't matter.

I get where there is SEC and Big 10 bias (and ND) for the playoffs. More eyeballs will be watching.

This list has a suspicious correlation to places where the largest number of people still watch on rabbit ear antennas in a barn.
