ESPN analyst not declaring Clemson's run over

ESPN's Seth Walder went through all the reasons why Clemson's run -- this season -- is not over yet.
"When we look at opponent-adjusted efficiencies, Clemson ranks 16th -- not all that terrible, and notably higher than undefeated Oregon and one-loss Ohio State. There are several reasons for this.
"First, Clemson has played the most difficult schedule in college football so far this season! The Tigers have played (and lost) to the best team in the country in FPI's mind (Georgia) on a neutral field and another top-25 team (NC State) on the road. Second, those losses have been relatively close: Clemson let the Georgia offense score just three points and lost on a pick-six, and it fell to NC State in overtime...
"If Clemson wins out, we're looking at a top-five quality team that is an ACC champion and has accomplished the sixth or seventh most in terms of strength of record. Is that a playoff team?
"It ... could be? The important thing is to put ourselves in the mindset of the world of college football in which Clemson has now won nine straight games and presumably there's been plenty of the typical carnage elsewhere, too. There's only about a 1-in-4 shot that Clemson even wins out, and only in about half of those chances does Clemson look good enough or enough goes wrong elsewhere to put it in. But it is possible. The Tigers aren't out yet."

holy crap! one season isn't the end of anything. we may go 7-5 or 6-6 and i am betting Clemson bounces back next year if that is the case.

All that sounds wonderful and probably looks great on paper… My hope is Clemson will show some offense today! But let’s say I’m not betting the bank on it ??

ESPN has setup Clemson to be the villain. They have been trying to get hating Clemson to be the cool popular thing all year. It's like how the media keeps talking about everything lebron does everyday and he's hated so much for really doing nothing.
I find it hilarious they mention that we might still make the playoffs while only showing a long segment of our worst plays of the year at the same time. Fumbles, dropped passes, interceptions, sacks. This kind of reporting works for the simple minded who can't see through whats fed to them and very effective.

Didn't ESPN say we had the easiest schedule 4 weeks ago?

It is self-fulfilling, now Dabo has the ammo and can stand on only needing 4 teams in the playoff especially if a 2 loss team can make it there. Genius, sheer genius.

I will be rooting for that scenario to come to pass. I may also call upon the Lord to give us a little help. Lord knows we could use it.
GO TIGERS!!!! And get rid of that dang Tiger CLAW!

All this is based on the assumption that Clemson, and particularly the offense, start looking like Clemson again. Let's just start getting the wins and look good doing it, and worry about whether that is good enough after we have done it.
