Did the team even want to play in the NIT?

Spring Break is next week for Clemson students. I don’t want to speak for the team, but if I were a player, I might rather spend my break elsewhere than playing in and practicing for a tournament that honestly no one cares about…
With that said, Brad should have been let go. We weren’t a Tournament team, and we were honestly a very average team for most of the season. We had one good stretch at the start of the ACC play, and we matched up really well with NC State. Otherwise, we were a very mediocre team despite having some of the better players in the conference.

No, but Brad got a bonus for it so not participating was out of the question.

Should greatly aid us going into next year. All that valuable tournament experience during the NIT run in prep next year's 'big dance' appearance.

for wins (26) had they made it through the 3 home games they had lined up as the #1 seed. Could have set the record with success in the semifinals.
Instead they helped validate the NET rating system, proved that bad losses are indeed a bad sign for tournament selection, and exposed our admin as homers pushing an unsound tournament worthy narrative.

What do you truly think? If I had 3 guesses, all 3 of them would be no they didn't want to play in the NIT after the NCAA dis ed them by looking for excuses to keep them out of the tournament, and in my opinion, that's exactly what they done. IMO, who you lost to shouldn't hold more weight than who you beat several times, and using that to say no to our team was lower than EEL chit!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 3 team we lost to shouldn't have made that huge of a difference since those 3 were out of conference games, and with players knowing that, they will sometimes feel that those games are meaningless, and they don't play their hardest or best to win those games bc there is about to be many others that count within their conference. Most all conference teams will schedule out of conference games to practice certain thing to see how it works against a non conference team bc they don't compete against those teams in their conference, and they should be seen as games of practice.
The total strength of our team this season was against the ACC, and looking at the chart, Clemson and NC State was almost identical but with Clemson just a little better in some things than NC State, but Clemson did beat NC State the 3 times they played, plus we beat Pitt and by the chart Clemson finishes the season I guess in 3d place when we were predicted to finish near the bottom. That must be what the committee was going by, by them saying no to Clemson. If the committee puts NC State and Pitt in the Tournament, I just don't see how they could with anything close to a good reason keep Clemson out. Something in the milk just isn't clean when you match the two or three situations with NC State, Pitt, and Clemson, with Clemson finishing higher in the ACC than those other two that made the NCAA Tournament, it was the wrong decision anyway you want to look at it IMPO!!!!
