I don't think that is too far off, actually, though I would rate him higher than 7th. Love Cade, and I think he can have a great year and get himself to the NFL, but I do think the Heisman and No. 1 pick talk is a bit much at this point.

I'd rank him higher than 7th too, albeit it sounds like they would if it was a ranking.
For what it's worth, they mentioned it as a metric (rather than a ranking or rating) & it was brought down largely from the season opener against Georgia.
Heisman I worry about only because you have to have moments & big games for the award, & unfortunately we just don't have that on the schedule this year; LSU is too early, but I will love seeing him in NYC for the ceremony regardless & can't wait to see him excel & be more explosive this season. Go Tigers!

Lol you kidding? It's not an easy schedule and we will have some close games where he can have his moments.

I never said easy schedule, to be clear; I always say there's no such thing as an easy schedule, for what it's worth.
I only said moments matter in the Heisman, & especially later in the season, notably from big games or top-shelf opponents.
South Carolina, for example, could be great, but I sincerely think they're not going to be a great win by the time we get to the last game of the regular season.
Miami is a sincere & legitimate hope, though, & make no mistake, I am hopeful. I'd love a Heisman at Clemson, for real, & I don't dislike the schedule one bit plus we have a lot of advantages including staying in the time zone the entire season again. I just think there's such a talent gap with the vast majority of our schedule this year we might not see many close ones but still wouldn't be surprised to see him in NYC for the stats & record alone, know what I mean?

Not a fan of putting numbers on guys prior to the season. If absolutely need to do this then let’s say he is in the top 125 of QB’s. There is a lot to prove from every position so go play by play, game by game and when the dust settles then opinions can be formed.
For now GO TIGERS

It's not a pre-season ranking, for what it's worth, but a metric for last season's performance for retuning QB's (they mention the Georgia game in the season opener dropping his number a full letter grade with a 4.9 YPP & 1 INT to 0 TD's with -17 yards rushing, etc.) & he has the highest-rated EPA for dropbacks in returning ACC QB's outright, etc.
It's going to be an exciting season for sure. Go Tigers!

Honestly think Cade could do with a little bulletin board material; this is about the lowest anyone's been on him.

No telling where any of them should ranked. We will find out this season. There isn't an obvious Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence out there.

Burrow, though

Keep in mind, this is a metric of last season's performance only.
For Joe Burrow, for example, it would have been vastly lower (in all sincerity he likely wouldn't have been on the list). 16/5 for TD/INT (vs 60/6 the next year) with half the total yards in 2 fewer games.
Not trying to take anything away from him whatsoever, but the season before he won the Heisman he was relatively atrocious, making his rise even more spectacular. Cade's position to-date is simply vastly better, & like Burrow, the team added a ton of production around him for his final season. Gonna be a fun one, Go Tigers!

CK2 is in the top 3 with Nussmeier and Manning with none of these a clear frontrunner.
If CK2 puts on a clinic and outperforms Nussmeier head to head and Clemson wins handily ( a tall order ) he becomes the frontrunner. Imo
The same is true of Manning. If he has a stellar performance against the defending national champions he surges to the front.
Both of these things happening are unlikely and I like CK2 chances better than Arch's.
