I have to be honest. When Coach Bakich first mentioned this a few months ago, I didn't think much of it. But I can see how this can be a really lousy situation for opposing pitchers, especially if the fans standing right there are inebriated. I'd be pissed if opposing teams did this to our guys in their ballparks. Not good. A terrible look and it may lead to bad incidents. It should changed so the fans are much further back.

We can win without doing that crap.
I feel a similar way about putting the opposing band in the upper deck at football.
It’s ridiculous.

I don’t want anybody getting hurt, but heckling is part of the game. Go ahead and remove the terrace cuz that’s unfair and gets into the heads of some outfielders, too.
I’ve seen our players get spit on and have batteries thrown at them. This is nothing.
And everyone poasting about how awful this is, next time you go to a Clemson sporting event only say nice and uplifting things to opposing players and coaches. What am I saying… you’ve always done that.

Any banter should be acceptable for a public setting. Both spectators and competitors should behaved respectfully.
INO it is soft, undisciplined, weak minded and disrespectful to behave otherwise.

No. Clemson doesn't want to be Columbia SC. Wster bottles and all of that. Tne beer garden is great, but a pitcher should be able to warm up without any chance tbat a fan can physically touch them. It's completely stupid to think that's ok. Move them.back about 6 ft. And post signs saying that making physical contact or throwing objects at a player will result in a 5yr ban from all Clemson athletic events and a 1000k fine. It's pretty simple actually.
