This kid's a spoiled brat, though I wouldn't doubt his dad put him up to it. He's not that great a QB, he's just the only one they had who could throw it forward. His dad pulled him out of the Clemson butt whooping early last year, and he's going to have to pull him out again once the Tigers are killing him again this year. Muschamp, Bentley, that whole program has gone back to the sewers and sewer rats they've always been. Spurrier's a POS but he would've told it like it is if they'd asked about someone flopping like that on his team, he would've said it was stupid and they don't need that.

Kenny Stabler Said that he didn't shower...

... for a few days before each game so that the DL's would get off of him quickly. Many QB's actually have a decent relationship with opposing teams D players and they hit the QB just hard enough to get the job done.
With Bentley? Oh his dance card is going to be filled on every passing down and D players will intentionally bring the pain.
It's doubtful he will still be healthy by the time we bring the beef on the last Saturday in November.

Was thinking that last night. With as much steam as his antics have picked up, he's got a target on his back all season. Some DB is going to light him up - soon. I'd put good money on him being injured by the time the end of the season comes around.

I've heard coaches talk about respecting the game and flopping seems disrespectful to the game. It is also a bit of a pansy move in a game that doesn't tolerate pansies.

When I first saw this I was thinking " no way, ..... no way does a coach (any coach) support this type of activity". How in the name of all things Holy do you, as a leader of young men, condone this? It cheapens the sport, it makes your team seem small, and now it makes the coach look like he's desperate to get any type of forward movement with the offense. Maybe it's just me but I am BLOWN away that Muschamp said this. I had "some" respect for him as a former defensive player and DC.

Flopping in essence is cheating. It's fake, it's acting which isn't real. You're trying to fool the refs into thinking something happened that didn't, which is lying. It's pathetic, it's low. And the head coach supports it? Just when I thought that program couldn't get any lower and be just a little more pathetic. Wow. Just wow.

Yes...I'm not a football player but my outsider take
Sep 22, 2017, 9:09 AM
|
|
is that there's no place for flopping in a sport that can be as violent as football. In that "controlled aggression" environment, where the refs have to be aware of things actually getting out of hand, faking it to draw their flag is a big mistake. Just my opinion.
Muschamp's comments solidify the already obvious difference between him and Dabo. Don't get me wrong...I wouldn't picture Dabo throwing his player under the bus, but I would see a short speech on playing with integrity and making sure his players show respect for the game and their opponents, and if that wasn't happening he would definitely want to address it with the player.
What a bad week for the Gamecocks.

Dabo may have laughed a little about it but would say "we've had a talk with him, we don't need to be doing that stuff" or something like that. He sure as hell wouldn't have said "Hey, he's trying to get us 15 yds".

Faking to get a penalty is cheating, it's unsportsmanlike conduct. Clearly chump is for it, he said so. This raises the question, is there any cheating that chump doesn't support?

Hard to respect a guy you know is faking the funk just to gain a small advantage . What is most distressing about this though is that it hasn't worked after what , 4 or 5 tries ?
Coots need large advantages . They need fire cannons and multiple jersey/helmet color combinations . Those two things should turn the tide on their 120+ years of football floundering .
Floundering ...that's a great nickname for The FiveHead Flopper . "Bake The Flounder" Jentley .

It's chickenchit. Muschamp endorses it - tells you a lot about him. I think it will get taken care of on the field by opposing players. Not sure Bentley will be healthy enough to play against us this year.

What does this say about USC football? Can someone teach this young man how to compete without making outlandish comments to the press after getting his head beat in and flopping in an embarrassing way that fooled no one. The only thing more embarrassing was Muschamp condoning it.

That just shows how much of an idiot muschump is and childish the qb is. Ref should have flagged him for unsportsman like conduct. Hope someone does put him on the ground Saturday along with a player flying into muschump and put him out.

I know the Shamecocks do shamefull things but for the "head coach" to endorse such tactics and behavior is just plain sad but consistent with their high school entrance and other antics.

I hope the officials start giving it a 15-yarder every time it happens. Maybe the coach should be flagged as well on a repeat offender.

Says so much about their program that they not only flop but the coach endorses the flopping. Have enough sense to say flopping isn't the way to play a game. Will never have any respect around the country if that is what you endorse.
