This feels too much like almost every basketball season under BrownL.

Thank God there is not a baseball NIT.

Either put us in the real thing, or put us out of our misery.

Will have to score 10+ to win this game .

That is very likely accurate.***

At least Brownell lost in the ACCT on a 3 pt buzzer beater to the eventual ACC champions

We weren't even competitive this tournament lol

At this point, I would really just prefer to let the season

end quietly, instead of tacking on a couple more losses. If this team was horses, we would just be listed in the "Also Ran" category. We just don't HAVE the horses to make a legitimate NCAA Tourney run, even if by some miracle a bid is extended to us.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer, just stating facts that the season has already proven.

I've never understood the "I'd rather not be invited because we will just lose" way of approaching being a fan.

For the players involved, the chance to go to a regional and get the experience will be amazing even if they go 0-2. With the covid cancellation and not making a regional last season, it won't be long before we don't have a player in the program who has played in a regional.

There is also the aspect of needing to get an experience before you are ready for the experience.

I would much rather get the experience for the players and have them be a little more comfortable with the atmosphere if they are able to improve next season enough to actually have a shot at winning a regional.

I agree -- in 1987 Clemson won the Men's Soccer Championship

May 26, 2022, 2:00 PM

... after being the 23rd team selected in the 24-team tournament. Clemson became the first team in NCAA history in ANY SPORT to beat the #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 ranked teams in a tournament to win it all.

https://clemsontigers.com/1987-national-championship/

That was Clemson Soccer's second of 3 National Titles. The first one was in 1984 ... the last one was last year (2021).

So ... once you get your foot in the door, ANYTHING can happen. Best case, like Clemson Soccer in 1987, you win it all ... worst case, you lose, but gain experience at that level.

Awesome post! Great example.***
