He excites me so I guess we cancel each other out.
But more importantly is this;Why doesn't he excite you?Is it because he does not have a top notch defense in only his first season while playing with most of Kevin Steele's kids because he has not had a chance to recruit the type of players that fit his system, or is it because you did not like the type of"D" he ran at Oklahoma even though he was not really the main defensive coordinator but only a co defensive coordinator which is why he left OU for greener pastures.
The Jury is still out.But give the man at least one recruiting class.

Venables was THE DC at Oklahoma. Stoops came to be co DC and Venables left. Venables was THE DC the last 5 or 6 years or more.

You might want to research your facts and you will see that Venables defenses at Oklahoma consistently finished worse than 50th in the nation, but for one single good year. There is a reason that the Clemson defense is currently ranked near the bottom of all D-1 schools after 3 games in rushing defense. After we get through with them on Saturday, I expect that they may be at the very bottom come Monday.

- In 2005 Oklahoma ranked No. 4 nationally in rushing defense and No. 13 in total defense.
- In 2006 Venables was a Broyles finalist as Oklahoma ranked No. 16 nationally in total defense, No. 16 in rushing defense and No. 6 in takeaways.
- In 2007 Oklahoma’s defense ranked No 5 nationally in scoring and No. 19 in total defense.
- In 2008 the Sooner’s defense ranked No. 4 nationally in sacks and No. 20 in rushing defense.
- In 2009 Oklahoma ranked No. 7 nationally in both scoring defense and total defense.
- In 2010 Oklahoma ranked No. 13 nationally in pass efficiency, No. 7 in tackles and No. 7 in turnover margin.
So five out of the 8 years Venables was DC at OkU his D was top 20 in Total D.
