I love what Jack Dorsey is and was trying to do with Cash App, there is a JRE interview with him, a great look into his thought process. He’s extremely upset in what’s happening at Twitter also.
I actually can’t get rid of PayPal just yet because some of my other subscriptions don’t have alternative payment acceptance unless I give up card numbers.

Currently, the AUP still exists and even if it is revised to remove the $2500 fine, the censorship and their option to cancel your account still exists. That has not gone away and as soon as my account is cleaned up and there are no obligations between me and PayPal and vice-versa, my account will be cancelled.

I found out Disney owns about 48% of HULU and the question of why HULU Live+ added Disney+ and ESPN+, and increased my monthly fee without my approval was answered. I cancelled them and they asked why, I told them. If it wasn't for Clemson, I wouldn't support anything owned by Disney.

Thing, but they also steal money from people they disagree with. Eric July is a commentator who loves comics and has talked about how woke nonsense is destroying comic books. Liberals told him to make his own if he didn’t like Marvel, etc. so he did, and he raised $3 million in one day. PayPal held the funds and threatened not to release them. July had to take them to court. This was a few months back.

They certainly had that right, but it shows in what political realm Paypal resides.
Still, PayPal has 400 million accounts, roughly the entire population of the U.S. so I am not sure if the peopel dropping theirs accounts will make much of a dent.

I just spent over 1/2 hour on the phone with PayPal (from a Conservative Point of View) asking every question I could think of regarding the Agreement Use Policy (AUP) in question. Prior to the call, I discovered the AUP has been pulled from their website. I learned the following (which wasn't much):
The $2500 fine and all fines will be removed. There was no answer as to why the original AUP was written by the PayPal Legal Team the way it was or why. However, it still looks like a PayPal Legal Team will be determining if anyone can or will be censored and determine any "misinformation". I asked about PayPal going WOKE and told them there are two sides to this. I asked if they will be censoring both the Liberal Left or just the Conservative Right for misinformation. I was told good point but got no answer. I asked why they were blocking funds from accounts and was told the only way they will be blocking funds is if it is illegal activity or requested by the account owner. I asked if being a Conservative was illegal and got no answer. I asked a number of other questions but left it with them that PayPal should not be censoring anyone for their beliefs no matter what side they lean.
The updated AUP should be out within a week and any PayPal users left will get an email to review it.

Yes I did ask specifically about Eric July and his views over Marvel and having his funds blocked. The person said they did not have any direct knowledge about it or was just refusing to answer the question. I tried to keep it professional so I didn't call them a liar.

Without rehashing the actual debate, I objected to a company grand-standing and taking away jobs from my adopted home city on what I considered a very nuanced topic.
Anyway, this is a pretty crazy overreach. The idea that it was just "a mistake" is pretty laughable. Enough people in the food chain thought this was a reasonable rule (a National Review article I read stated that PayPal thought $2,500 was fair based on their costs for managing inappropriate content and the damage to their reputation). I'm not clear on PayPal - do people post opinions on it? I thought it was just for payments. Are they monitoring ANY social media?
Doesn't matter, I suppose. I support the idea that you don't want a company like this to have access to your money in any way. Playing with fire. If they want to cancel your account, so be it. But fine you $2,500? And you know you'll never get it back and probably waste hours and hours trying. Cannot imagine a company culture where that sees the outside of a brainstorming session, let alone gets published to the public, accident or not.
