Yeah. Didn't know that story either.

The other I found interesting was the Blues Brothers. Lorne didn't like the sketch. They had time to fill on a show. Aykroyd went to him and he said go ahead and makes fools of yourselves. A comic master piece is born.

Are there any other sketches that turned into movies?

I cannot think of any.

Did not know that the Tim Robbins flick Bob Roberts and A Mighty Wind were spawned from SNL. Also wasn't familiar with the 2024 movie Saturday Night.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

If there's one thing Lorne Michaels said in the show that I believe is

“I'll read it sometimes in the Post, 'So and so's banned for life,'” says Michaels in the doc. “We've never banned anyone. We're way too crass and opportunistic. If something's hot, we're going to go for it and have it on.”

The bottom line in that statement is that money talks...and I guarantee you that's never been more true when we're talking about media conglomerates.
