Loses sometimes to really bad teams and then comes right back and defeats great teams?
Duke is legit, nobody had any questions about them until after tonight. We just plain bullied them in rebounding and physicality.
But besides, it’s just weird how this seems to happen with Brad.

refs were a little different than the GT game. They had to at least try to be impartial since it had the 'dickie v is back babeee' extravaganza.

I mean that's just competitive sports if we're being honest.
Plenty of basketball teams do the same - great ones too!
IMO, and yes I'm going to write a silver-linings thing, it's how you do in your sloppy games that tell me HOW good of a team you are.
This year, Clemson has not been blown out. Our losses were ALL competitive...even when we were SLOPPY. We have even won games WHEN we are sloppy. That tells me all I need to know about this team and its ceiling. We are a good to great team.
I wouldn't be surprised if we made it back to the Sweet 16 or even went further. I like this team even more than last year's team and think we'll be a problem in the big dance for most teams.

Yup, and against GT we were sloppy, tentative, could not drop it in the ocean, hit free throws, get open and refs that decided if a guy like looked awkward he must have fouled someone even if they did not see him make contact, and it still took them 3 ots to win. Hated it, it gave me a headache, but it does not mean every game will be that way.

Yep. Exactly. I'll equate it simply. Old man strength (40+) vs young man strength. That old man strength wins almost everytime. We got the veteran thing going for us. Will pay dividends in tourney play

Yeah that’s true, but you can’t look in hindsight and say that it just happens when talking about the fact we have a better team anyways.
It happens a lot yeah, but we know we have a better team than GT. And definitely the stupid 0-11 gamecocks.
Not going to say we expect Brad to become the “Dabo” of Clemson basketball, nor am I making this about Dabo at all anyways.
But in a competitive sport like football, Dabo went a very long stretch of win streaks in all different categories. Like any elite coach.
Against unranked teams, home win streaks, etc.
I think Brad is an elite coach. And he’s got a good bit on his track record. But I think there could’ve been more. And I think he is good enough to become one of the all time greats.
But to be elite, we’ve got to cut the crappy losses. It happens too much.
This comes from our expectations for basketball now. We know da** well what Clemson basketball is.

Tommy Bowden's teams would be like that too. They would beat a ranked FSU or Miami one week and then lose to Duke or Wake the next.

and even the elite teams have mind numbing losses - just far less frequently
End of the year take a look at the schedule results for the top 10-30 ranked teams from whatever ranking / rating system you choose. You’ll find a lot of the poopy losses throughout.

The name for it is upset. I noticed a couple of top 25 teams were upset by unranked teams just yesterday. Brad is no more likely than any other coach for this occupancy as being a casual fan you likely don’t notice the others
