Was glancing at the stats for the 2013 win vs uga. Couple obvious things. 3rd down stops. uga had almost 100 more total yards that game but was 4-14 on 3rd down. Which also led to Clemson winning the time of possession holding the ball for 40 total minutes. Clemson also ran the ball 46 times to 30 passes. The game was pretty much back and forth even the whole time. The 3rd quarter Catman field goal proved to be the difference maker.
How can you possibly look at a game from 8 years ago and say it will have an affect on Saturday. Yes 3rd down is always important but 2013 has no meaning on this game
Whether the game was 108 years ago or not - 3rd down efficiency for your offense and defense is key. That game 8 years ago has no meaning on this game; but the point of your post I believe was "being efficient on 3rd down ourselves and stopping Georgia on 3rd down"!
When Clemson has it: My big thing is 1st down play selection. Are we getting good yardage on 1st down? Are they? Can you get the leg rubbers into 3rd and long and obvious passing situations. BV excels in exotic blitzes and would love to live in this arena. I get what you are saying here!
