Without Dabo. Never seen such a blatant bunch of spoiled ##### ### fans and donkeys we have now. Hatfield days? low iq cooters. College football has been corrupted just like this country.

Venerables and Scott were the key to Clemson's success, take a close look at the Defense and Receiver production after they departed. Venerables also took team intensity and toughness with him too.

I would like to give credit to coaches Brooks, Hobby, Scott, and Reed. Coordinators are important but so is talent evaluation/recruiting/development.

@nike you right I've been saying that ever since he left. Reminds me of a Kevin Steele coached defense right now. Dabo needs to do a better job of hiring coordinators. Wes Goodwin and Garrett Riley are both not any good.

Starting to look that way!
I would also lets add that CDS does still get credit for hiring him. You (not you personally NIKE) cant have one without the other, the two are inextricably linked.

Never would have had a dynasty without dabo.... and Venables, and Scott, and Elliot, and DW4, and TL16, and Wilkins, and ...I think that I have made my point. How many of those guys are still where they were during dynasty years now after the drop-off?

You know, that might be true.
Dabo has always been a terrible gameday coach, but he was a very good recruiter. He was able to sell recruits and their parents on Clemson being a loyal community and tight-knit place, where they knew they wouldn't be just a number. That idea worked to convince a number of recruits who formed this dynasty, people like Trevor, ETN, and the Power Rangers. And once we began having success, we were able to sell recruits on being able to compete for titles every year as well. He also was more humble, and willing to admit his mistakes and fix them, such as the mistake of hiring Steele and his hiring Venables. So I agree that Dabo should be appreciated for Clemson's great success from 2013 (I'm counting the big wins over Ohio State and Oklahoma) to 2020.
But here's where your post falls flat. That success does not support us paying him $11 million a year TODAY. We have have very little success in 5 years. Since Trevor left, we've averaged an end of season ranking of around 17. Since 2020, we are in 3-9 in games against teams in the top 15, and our average score has been 21-34, not even competitive. So in the last 5 years, we have not been a top 15 team, and yet we've paid Dabo the second or third highest salary of all college coaches.
Everyone says you should give a new coach 4-5 years to establish their team. But Clemson is significantly worse of a team than it was 5 years ago. I don't see the opportunity for Clemson to return to elite status with Dabo. Our recruiting has dropped off dramatically. From 2015-2020, our average rating per recruit was the third highest in the country. In the last 4 recruiting classes, our average rating per recruit has been #13. This newest class is the worst yet, with us at #28 overall and #17 in average rating per recruit, losing our only 5 stars and a QB we went all-in on. And Dabo's position on the portal and NIL has made us toxic to elite players.
Do you support paying someone $11 million in perpetuity as a lifetime achievement award?

Fact check…no doubt on Saban having a dynasty, but Kirby has two NC, Dabo has two NC!
Do the math bro.

Kirby is still keeping Georgia in national championship contention. Dabo has not for some time with Clemson. Thus, Kirby may (using italics again, so beware with your computer system) have a dynasty. Dabo does not.
