Following up on my post earlier about getting two ribeyes from Harper’s Meats in Anderson. Grilled them at 400-450 degrees; 7 minutes per side turning 90 degrees half way each time. They turned out amazing and I wood recommend Harper’s Meats. Local SC shrimp grilled as well. Other sides were green beans and baked potatoes.

I thought about going the McLovin route w indirect heat but decided against it.

The last few times I’ve eaten shrimp or lobster, my throat gets “scratchy” and irritated. And the taste lingers in my mouth for hours. Like I wake up in the morning and all I taste is shrimp, even if only had a couple and ate an entire steak and potato with it. Just taste shrimp in my mouth.

Lobster is the worst. Never touch that shiz.***

So I cook her lobster a few times a year. I will normally eat little bits of it. But now it’s not worth the throat irritation.

She's really making me angry lately.***

She has that effect on me as well sometimes.

But I’m too scared to tell her to her face so sometimes I fire up the old TNet and scream at the guys about it.

She’s alright though. Put up with my crap for almost 22 years. Guess I better start putting up with some of her crap too.

Got to be the cleanest grill ever.

No flare ups there… at least on the side presented. It’s a purdy steak for sure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Mine doesn't flare up until 500 degrees.

Closed except to turn 90 degrees and flip.

“If you are looking, you are not cooking.” Is what a wise old griller once told me.

Ive heard people argue both sides when it comes to steak

Oct 28, 2023, 9:39 PM

Keep the lid closed, why not just put it in the oven? I think the best ones I’ve had turn out were lid open, but I’ve closed her down as well from time to time.

But I’ll admit I forgot until about an hour before grill time. Fail on my part.
