'cause dat ish don't play!
Seriously, a pill you swallow but can taste afterwards. Acts immediately as an uber-powerful expectorant AND cleans you out on the other end too. The doc described it as a degunker to prevent pneumonia etc. Well, it certainly is that.
But APM is feeling better.
Thanks to those who recommended the paxlovid.

Being a liver transplant patient, she takes a myriad of drugs, a couple of which are for anti-rejection. Her blood is tested every month to see that her levels of these drugs are where they should be. One is ProGraf, and the other is CellCept. The ProGraf level set for her is 6.5.
Her Covid symptoms included severe headache, very intense, so she called the team at MUSC to ask if there was something she could take. They mistakenly prescribed Paxlovid for her, which is actually two different drugs, and one of them is expressly contraindicated for ProGraf.
Within 2 days of starting Paxlovid, I had to take her to the hospital; her proGraf level had skyrocketed to over 65, and she had to stop taking it. It took 7 days of not taking it for he ProGraf level to come back down to 10.0
So, that was our experience with Paxlovid.

materials make it very clear that Paxlovid does not play well with other meds. Thankfully, I do not take any other meds.

Doc wouldn't give me paxlovid. She said the side effects were worse than covid. So I suffered through that ish for almost 3 weeks, start to finish.

There was a group of about 16 of us, and one of the group developed a case of Covid while she was there. She sat next to me in an all day meeting and at breakfast the next day, and 3 days later, I started to get the sniffles. The next day was my flight home, from Istanbul to Chicago, then Chicago to GSP. I have NEVER had sinuses that hurt like that flying experience. My ears equalizing on our ascent and descent on both flights made so much noise in my head that I was positive people sitting around me could hear them.
By the time I landed in GSP, I was 90% deaf. I went home, went straight to bed, and took benadryl. Within 5 days, I was fine. I have been vaccinated and had all the boosters, and I was kind of thinking maybe I was immune when I finally caught it. Stayed completely in my head, never got into my chest at all.
