My niece is only a month old and is a perfect little ball of joy. Sleeps through the night, hardly cries and seemingly perfectly healthy. Sunday night she started having strange things happen including choking in her sleep and waking up constantly which is strange for her. So on the way to the doctor in the morning my sister noticed her having a seizure, both of my siblings and I have epilepsy so we have an idea of how to handle this but with a newborn it's a whole different thing emotionally. She was rushed to MUSC where the seizures would continue often. She has been happy through this whole process somehow but neurologists are puzzled as her EEG is not showing that she is having a seizure, they're hoping that she is having strange symptoms of parifluenza stating that sometimes it has "seizure like" effects on infants. We're hoping for the best and that this is all just a scary coincidence.

Not trying to diagnose here, but our youngest had a few seizures as a infant and the docotrs could not pinpoint the cause. As he got older it turned out that he had complex motor stereopathy which causes flapping and rigidity when over stimulated. It is a fairly begnign condition which he has almost completely outgrown.
Hopefully, the same type of outcome will be the result with your Niece.

I appreciate the input greatly. Unfortunately epilepsy runs in my family so there's a good chance if these are seizures that will be the cause of it.

Man, i throw a lot of trash around, mostly in fun... This is not fun...I turn of the meter and put my hand to the screen.. Just a thought to ponder. There is a lot of evidence coming out that Cannabis,that old scourge marijuana is proven to cut seizures from frequent to almost zero...Please ask more than one person who specializes in seizures to explain it to you. Best of luck...

I already asked about CBD oil and they said it's hit or miss. They said it'll completely solve most problems or have no effect so if the doctors do relate this to being in fact seizures I want to try this given that it's ok with her being so young because that's really what complicates all of this.

Prayers and see will get excellent care. As an adult I wouldn’t go to MUSC but they are the best, bar none, children’s hospital. Hope she comes home soon
