Hard to believe that

Clemson softball had runners on second and third with no outs to beat Texas and keep them out of these playoffs and winning a National Championship and couldn’t push across a run. I would have squeezed twice in a row before I would leave two runners stranded in that situation. That has to be a big regret looking back. It was the right call even before we weren't able to score, because you knew it would be the turning point in the series and it was. There was no way we were going to win game 3.

Hmmm, you'd think something different might occur with your .200 hitter (with 3Ks on the night) at the plate. LMAO

It’s a lot harder to squeeze in softball, the runners can’t leave base until the ball is released by the pitcher. I have watched a lot of softball over the years and can’t recall any true squeeze plays.

I hear you, but you gotta try. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense and if it fails your runner on second goes to third and the batter will be on first with only one out.

The base paths are so short if you get the ball down, other than bunting it right back to the pitcher (on any angle) it is still very difficult to throw out the runner coming from third. I coached softball in high school and it is done quite a bit. In this case had we tried to squeeze with no outs it would have been even a bigger surprise the second time with one out. I think the odds were pretty darn good that one or the other would have worked. Unfortunately we will never know.

the chances of scoring on a bunt are high. I would say as high as 75%

in the 1-0 nine inning game vs Northwestern in the regionals. Wasn't that a squeeze?

The Texas pitcher had one of the best riser balls in the country. Bunting a riser results in a pop-up 90% of the time. I would have still tried it or at least sent in a pinch hitter.
