Panthers would be neat team for several reasons..

1. He’d be 1st big name Clemson athlete on their squad after about 25 years of having zip.
2. He’d help them win more games.
3. He’d draw more Clemson fans since Charlotte so close to many fans in the Carolinas.

Panthers would be better for all the reasons mentioned already. New Orleans may be a train wreck after losing their coach! Sean Payton held the Saints together, and now he is leaving.
If he leaves the Texans, I hope he lands with the Panthers.
Now forget the NFL! Go Tigers, Beat Tech!

I have never seen a player worth what Houston is asking. Guess they may as well shoot for the moon and then take less. Glad DW4 will have a chance to play again.

Since he has a no trade clause, doesn't he have leverage?
and he's currently being paid by Houston NOT to play?
I'd think he'd want to make them come down on the trade cost because if his new team gives up 3 first round picks plus others plus players that is going to cripple the team he is joining.
If I were him, I'd be forcing Houston to reduce that or nix the trade and they can continue to pay him for not playing.

Maybe some have forgotten that the Texans own the rights to DW though 2025. They will decide what they need to get for him. He's guaranteed 35 million for 2022 if he ended up staying with the Texans (unlikely) and playing. If for some reason they did not trade him and he refused to play then he gets nothing (and the Texans would have missed on some draft picks). They paid him last year because he was in legal purgatory and couldn't really play for anyone. He's not in the ownership position of deciding how many players they should be compensated with and yes, it's going to gut the team where he lands. Spoke with a former D1 and CFL player on why the Texans would definitely want to get the most that they can now. Once a player declares that he no longer wishes to play for a team then he obviously is not on good terms with management, but he has more or less burned the bridge to the locker room as well. He has stated that he does not want to lead the other 53 players in the locker room. Not exactly a morale booster if he stuck around and played. So the Texans want to cut their losses while getting fair market value for a top 5 QB.
