Just my opinion, but Dabo being less than enthusiastic to play the NIL game with new recruits has hurt us. I have always had issues with Conn, and I have never thought of him as even a decent recruiter or good coach.

College FB has evolved away from the 1960’s, during that era RB was the dominant position of need. At least that’s how fans of the 1960’s understood it, because news sources were limited in their knowledge of FB and coverage about ‘mundane’ positions such as OL and DL didn’t help to sell newspapers.
60 years later, college FB fans … at least, most of them … know that RB is nowhere nearly as important to a team in the current era of sophisticated passing offenses. LBs with great speed and pass coverage ability are harder to find, and thus more valuable than RBs. Same with mobile DTs that are tough against the run and collapse the pocket. Same with DEs that can set the edge and also rush the passer.
